It’s basic Chinese food at a reasonable price. Nothing fancy but definitely nothing wrong with it. We’ve been eating food from here for nearly twenty years. Kids love the lemon chicken. I recommend the Spicy Calamari. Staff are friendly and food is prompt. What more do you need?
Poor & unfriendly service. Took a group over 10 to dine here, too many hints seemed a bother to staff and they weren’t even busy. Not friendly, no smiles, no initiative, asked for water and got one glass instead of a jug for the table then we were clearly being encouraged to leave when told the kitchen is closed, it was about 9pm midweek. Overall not at all impressed, plenty of other Asian cuisine all around. Missed opportunity on their part sadly.
It’s whats on the inside that counts. Almost turned away when my father suggested this restaurant and we showed up to what looked like a run down Chinese take away shop. We sat down and it looked fairly ok inside. Then we ordered the banquet for $28 per person. There was so much food, we couldn’t eat it all. The food was pretty good for Chinese. It was not too greasy and tasted quite good. Overall impression, would not go out of my way to get to this restaurant but it was pretty good for the price.
Great simple food. First impression not great , needs a facelift.
However food was freshly cooked and delicious and the staff a delight. Will be back often, a really good local find.
Great restaurant, I have been going there for years with my family and I am never disappointed!
Step back in time.. Discovered this restaurant when the nearby Japanese place was closed for Easter, and it was just the dose of nostalgia we needed.
Classical suburban Chinese. Red carpet, porcelain wall decorations, lazy Susans, (paper) napkins folded into little hats – childhood memories flooded back.
Complimentary prawn crackers arrive, nice, and most importantly, freshly cooked. My wife adored her San Choy Bow and my Sesame Prawn was better than I remembered as a child.
It was a quiet night and we could hear our mains, Scallops with a Ginger Sauce and Duck with (Shitake) Mushrooms, being tossed in the wok. The dishes arrived at the table a few minutes apart, hot, and with plenty of vegetables, even a few water chestnuts with the scallops. Steamed rice wasn’t gluggy.
The only thing missing was the hot towel at the end, but it was quite hot outside, but still…memories.
That said, we will return with the children and try a few other dishes and report back. We were too full to even look at the dessert menu, in fact, we had to take some home, which they were happy to oblige.
Yum!!! Fresh clean traditional Chinese food… We had lemon chicken, Mongolian beef and special fried rice and could not pick any faults whatsoever… Will definitely go back for more!!!
