Ive visited MOB a number of times over the years and I try to pop in whenever Im in the area. This time, Im after a coffee and snack as I stroll through the Sunday markets. My strong latte had really well steamed milk that gave it a luxurious velvety texture, and the espresso was well rounded and balanced.
I remember the croissant being really good flaky, nice honeycomb structure, buttery taste.
This time, it fell a bit short. It was re-toasted as it was previously, but it felt a bit oilier and softer.
Maybe Ive just been spoilt by extremely fresh croissants by 2 well known powerhouse bakers.

Nevertheless, MOB still has great ambiance, space, vibe and a cracking full menu.

I feel like I’m becoming a regular because the menu is so reliable and solid. There are a lot of choices around Camberwell and MOB really is the best. Service is always lovely. Can always get a seat. The music playing is always excellent. The pumpkin toast is my favourite.

A fairly cute spot down in Camberwell that has great coffee and a few decent vegan options on the menu. Their chia pudding is quite yummy, although I wish it had been a bit sweeter! My favourite is the pumpkin toast which was definitely the highlight of my day when I visited. I also got a salad that was made vegan upon request but unfortunately found it quite dry as they didn’t have any vegan dressing to put on it. The staff was very friendly and attentive though, and service was quick. I definitely recommend asking them to veganize the mango/passionfruit smoothie while you’re there also as that was absolutely delish! (sponsored/free meal)

Located in front of the Camberwell Sunday Market, this is a very vibrant large modern cafe serving healthy yummy food.

My smashed pumpkin (avocado is dead Melbourne!) with beetroot pure, goats cheese, crispy kale and poached egg on toast was fabulous. The serving portion was generous as well.

My coffee was also fab re taste and preparation; good body, strong flavour minus the bitterness. Hurrah!

Two main faults, there was a tiny egg in my breakky. If it had been a jumbo egg, I would understand, but this wasn’t a jumbo egg, so why not adding two small eggs? I thought there wasn’t enough animal protein in my dish. Of course, this is just my preference, and it might not be yours. The second downside was the size of the coffee cups, one of those I call doll-house-cups.

    Service was fast and uber-friendly.
    Average prices.

Visited MOB recently, which is also conveniently located right next to the Camberwell Sunday market.

I ordered their poke bowl, eggs benny and hot cakes.

The poke bowl was filled with lots of fresh elements and I loved how generous they were with their salmon!

The eggs benny was served with fried chicken, which was a major plus! I added a side of smashed avo to it to balance everything out. The fried chicken was fried to perfection!

The stand out dish during my visit was definitely their orange blossom hot cakes. They were SUPER fluffy and aromatic – loved the cacao nib meringue that went with it.

Service was really great – the team was super friendly!

Came here for dessert, we ordered the HK Nutella Waffles and Matcha Latte. The matcha latte was a disappointment. There wasnt any matcha flavour, we could only taste the cinnamon. The waffle was really good, though. It wasnt too dense, it was chewy and crispy, with the right amount of nutella that you get in every bite. The banana brle was a classic pairing for nutella, and the banana cream on top was light, not too sweet, which added a refreshing taste along with the strawberry. Definitely will be back for their mains next time!

Be aware there is a 10% surcharge every weekend and 15% on public holidays. They don’t tell you before you walk in. Chilli scrambled eggs were a bit salty and all the chilli was clumped to one side of the egg. Coffee is good but small. Won’t be rushing back.
