Looking for Japanese nearby we decided to visit Sakura Inn, the interior was quite cute and reminded me of a restaurant I visited in Japan , except more modern.
We ordered the sashimi which was not as fresh as I am use to , the tuna was very mushy , the salmon was not bad
The prawn gyozas were nice but I have never had a prawn gyoza in a Japanese restaurant before, these reminded me of the ones you can buy frozen by the brand KBS .
The beef curry had good flavour but nothing outstanding however we really enjoyed the katsu don which had a really nice crunchy crumbed chicken
Dinner at Sakura Inn was nice last night. The service was fast at the start because it wasnt so busy, but towards the end when we wanted our dessert it took us a while for someone to serve us. I really loved the salmon nigiri which tasted very fresh & the rice had a bit of a bit to it. I also really enjoyed the ginger which came with it. The bento box I ordered was average in my opinion. The teriyaki chicken was watery and filled with vegetables like bean sprouts, rather than just chicken which is what I prefer when I order teriyaki chicken. The tempura was nice but nothing special. I did enjoy the gyoza but not so much the potato salad. The black sesame ice cream that was included was really nice.
