This small cafe is a little downmarket for Mailing Rd, but was quite okay. The service is informal and friendly, apart from the waitress who seemed a little bored. It has a limited menu with no surprises rolls, sandwiches, burgers and a few breakfast items. I ordered the house-made vegetable pastie with salad which was very good and filling, and good value. The flat white, however came out way too hot – its not supposed to scold your mouth. The decor is a little plain and old fashioned but functional, with faux marble table tops and molded plastic chairs. One wall is lined with baskets of produce, and a glass facade with a bench facing the street provides view of the passing people traffic. Oddly, there is an ATM embedded in the faade. Reasonably good.
If I want to eat food from the floor, I would go to my garden and eat it straight out of the snail ridden dirt! I caught your staff dropping my salad on the floor and putting it back on the plate!
I should have picked up that plate and smashed it against the wall and walked out! However, I was calm and just did not eat anything! In fact, I ordered Red Rooster on the way home!
One word: The F word.
One of my favourite Maling Road cafes, it has been here for years. Food is unpretentious and very cheap, service is friendly and they always have a newspaper or two to read.
The food hasn’t changed in years, give it a miss.
Love the fresh turkey, brie and semi sun dried tomatoes baguette.. Soo delicious! Non pretentious. Getting the job done! Favourite along the strip.
Impeccable service, delicious food. They serves smiles on a plate and happiness in a cup
Never seen so many smiles in one place. Terrific work staff and tasty food 🙂
