Love there food ,the variety is quiet good. They have the yummiest burgers and stakes. I believe you can order anything from the menu and you wouldn't…

Standard pub food and pretty cheap and quiet, maybe there is a bit more of an atmosphere on the weekends. The Parma could have been a bit bigger…

Understaffed and long waits on everything! We were both ignored and chastised in equal parts for the entire time we were there.
After waiting 20mins to order and then being told it would be a wait on food due to understaffing in the kitchen, we decided to take our appetites and wallets elsewhere and cancelled our food order.
The solo waitress snapped at us on serval occasions, but particularly jarring was when we questioned the bill for our three drinks. When questioned about the price, she offered us a receipt in a rude and righteous manner only to notice that she had overcharged us.
Hidden behind the Rathdowne Street regulars is the Brandon Hotel. A cute little pub, with friendly staff that has a great menu and also very on trend specials. Chicken Parma ticked all the boxes. The arancini were also perfection with the aioli. Beautiful crisp balls or delicious!!! The others at the table had the roast of the day which was pork and served with roast veggies. The pan friend tickling with fennel salad was also a hit! We will be back for sure!!!
Cosy neighbourhood pub where we enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch. The Vegetarian enjoyed fresh haloumi tacos and crispy potato skins with a Japanese twist, while I attempted pork ribs with smoked Mac & cheese and slaw. It nearly defeated me but my trusty zip lock bag ensures none will go to waste! Awesome friendly service, and while we used a voucher, wouldn’t hesitate to come back at full price.
Just down Lee Street, around the corner from San Remo Ballroom it can be hard to find but it’s worth the effort. Split into two sections a front bar and a restaurant it’s an odd layout. Almost the front bar is too small and the restaurant too big. That aside they have included seating outside which is a good idea. The food is where it hits the mark. Cheap parma deal on a Saturday. Yes! A Saturday which makes a nice change from the mid week specials. During the week they still have other specials if your after a mid week feed. The food is outstanding (especially considering the price). Little things like board games and no pokies gives this pub real character.
A lovely pub in the middle of Carlton North, comfortable and a good selection of beer, wine and entertainment. I had pork belly, saganaki, salad a sparkling and rose, friend had lamb cutlets and a glass of wine. Used the entertainment book so got a $30 discount. Bill $78. Great value.
Possibly the best pub north side. Great selection of beer and even better selection of wine. Food is amazing – I had the lamb cutlets and they were incredibly tasty. Best bit of all is the set out – there’s the front bar where you can have a drink and a meal and get the real local pub vibe. Then there’s the dining room where there’s table service, fire place, classic furniture and great vibe. And then there’s the beer garden where you can sit or play darts. The Brandon offers board games and cards and every table in the front bar, a nice touch. I hands down say best pub in Carlton, suits everyone’s needs
Lovely ambience in this little hotel tucked away in the back streets of Carlton. Ask for a seat in the little alcove area of the dining room. The publican is very welcoming and genuinely interested that you enjoy your meal. We both had the steak (on the day, the cut was scotch fillet) – one serve with beer battered chips, the other with mash – both with porcini sauce and salad. The sauce was amazing and plentiful. Chips were crunchy and hot, mash was smooth and well seasoned. Steaks were tough in parts but really well flavoured and it didn’t detract from the enjoyment. Additionally, the steaks were cooked exactly as ordered – one perfectly medium, the other perfectly medium-rare. We visited on the entertainment book but would gladly visit again paying full price. The Brandon Hotel seems to be the local’s hang out leading a really nice casual relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a great meal.
