Gelateria on lygon.
Ambience: The place is pretty spacious, compared to other gelaterias on Lygon, with seatings inside. The lighting is good, and there was some funky music. There is no door though so it can be bit chilly.
Service: The person serving us was nice, and we could try the flavors. It was surprisingly wuiet on a Saturday night, there was no queue so it was a pretty quick process, and we didn’t feel the need to rush.
Food: On to the gelato. I’m really happy they have soy based flavors here, and quite some flavors too, aside from the usual sorbets. Though i did try a couple and they’re too sweet. Not to mention the wide variety of flavors available for both sorbets and dairy based ones!
The thing with the gelatos here is the sweetness. I find them too sweet. They’re not super sweet, but sweet enough to turn me off.
My brother did buy them so i had some too (can’t resist can i). Pistachio was decent, you can definitely taste the nuts, whileas chocolate was decent chocolate flavor, but could have been richer. Texture was pretty good, not too creamy not icy, portions is decent, it’s just… too sweet. There was five of us and we all agreed on this.
Price: Decent prices.
YUM: none
NAH: none
photos: pistachio and chocolate

I have been going to Casa Del Gelato since I was a little girl.
They have the best gelato on Lygon Street by far. Their gelatos are icy rather than creamy, just the way I like it. Their prices are also far more reasonable than other gelato places along the Lygon Street strip.
My all-time favourite flavour is their coconut gelato. I would buy it by the bucket-load if I could.
Just a heads up that this place is cash only as there are no EFTPOS facilities on site. If you bank with Commonwealth Bank, however, there is a conveniently located Bank West ATM in 7Eleven next door that does not charge a fee for withdrawal.
This use to be my go to store for gelato during the summer, but I feel its so outdated and just isnt the same as it use to be. Flavours of choice are still hazelnut, coffee and vanilla, but the selection is very large so everyone can find at least 1 they like.
Best icecream on Lygon in my opinion, and I’ve tried pretty much all of the places on Lygon! They pop a really cute heart-shaped biscuit into your cone, making it really aesthetic. However, they only take cash, so make sure to bring some along! Prices are extremely reasonable. You can even go to Argyle Square and have a cute picnic with friends!!
I have been here for years…since my uni days which was a while ago. But there is a reason why! The ice cream flavours are available are gigantic my favourite was the coffee yumm. The chocolate was a hit followed by all the fruit flavours.
I can’t honestly say how many times I’ve been here… a lot! They serve gelato and ice cream in cups, cones and waffle cones and take away containers too. There are so many flavours to choose from and you will find one that suits your mood. I love my amerena (sour cherry) and chocolate, it’s my go to on a warm night. I have never had a bad ice cream served to me although the services can be a little cold at times, but the queues can be long and the customers slow to make their selections. Give the shop a try, the calories will love you!
This gelato store is a local gem. I always come back for the ricotta cheese gelato which does not sound as gross as it sounds. I always get the usual cringe but when my friends try it they fall in love. Only downfall is that the ice cream melts so easily!! So be quick to lick it all up
