A very popular place in Carlton. We went on a Friday and it had a really interesting mix of people and ages. The decor is a bit old worldy.. in a good way.. tasteful and classy.
The menu is classic pub with a little bit more class.
We went as a work group for a work lunch.. the specials were ok.. but nothing to write home about. Serving sizes were good. (There are some cute staff so that did help)
Main thing for us is meals took a while for a work lunch. So unfortunately we can’t go back for lunch. Otherwise give it a go.
Long time fan of the Clyde and old-school Melbourne pubs in general, but tonight we waited an hour for food in a pub that wasnt full, and the food was stone-cold when it arrived.
On the plus size, the bar staff are excellent and the drinks are delicious.
Standard pub fare just around the corner of Lygon st and Melb Uni. Before coming, I was informed of the potentially long wait times for meals and therefore I came with quite low expectations. Ordered the Chicken Parma and Carlton Ice Tea. While the wait a little long, Parma was amazing, real cuts of chicken wrapped with bread crumbs and smothered in cheese and tomato along with a side of chips and salad. Their Ice Tea amazing, although having been here before for drinks, it can be a a hit or miss. Would definitely recommend coming on a weekday where theyve got specials for their meals, and more worth the longer wait times.
