It was one of Monday night taking my family for dining. I took them to Lygon Street to have some Gelato after visited 2 CBD restaurants within 1 hour They choose mango & coffee, raspberry & coffee. Mango & raspberries tasted like real fruit. Coffee was very sweet.
Staff was very friendly and kind.
Decent flavours and experience. Doesnt give me authentic gelato vibes, but its a good dessert fix. Be warned that there are a few flavours which are suppper sweet!
Came by here on a whim, and it was our first time trying gelato!
Gelato: We had checked the menu online before coming in and came in for the red velvet, brownie or banoffe favors and none were available.
So we went with the Burnt Caramel and Pecan and Peanut Butter cup and chocolate.
It lived up to it’s name in not being jaw crushingly sweet, while still being tantalizing and full of the flavor.
Sorbets are also available however, I recommend calling ahead to confirm if they have the flavor you are after.
Price: Reasonable for a a small size cup at $5/ scoop.
Service: Friendly but did not know when the other flavors listed on the menu were coming back or if they had discontinued.
The service was really great. There is a great range of flavours to chose from too! Unfortunately, once I went for the milkshakes, which they advertised to be $5. The milkshake did not look like the poster milkshake at all, which was really disappointing. They tasted really nice though- rich and creamy.
Prices are reasonable though and they give you taste testing.
Balmy night was perfect for some post dinner gelato down Lygon street. There is quite a lot of competition since I was last down this strip but I went to my tried and true over the newer stores. They had a great range including Peanut Butter Fudge with Chocolate Chips & the Cookies and Cream flavours we ended up with. I found the scoops quite generous, in fact while we were waiting I heard a lady in front of us say can you give me a smaller scoop… something that will never be said by me.
Salted Caramel gelato – so much for one scoop! What’s not to love about this place? omg, the gelato is so smoooth and ‘stringy/chewy’ and full of salted caramel flavour!
Grabbed a sugar-free, vegan chocolate sorbet on a sunny day after work. Could slightly but barely tell it was sf (sweetened with sugar alcohols, say the staff). Could definitely tell it was vegan, but what do you expect? It’s a sorbet. Wasn’t the prettiest cone or the most interesting selection of flavours, but definitely a relatively affordable and reliable option on Lygon.
