  Arrived At Adjoining Accommodation And Was Tired And Flustered, Checked In And Spotted This great restaurant/bar and wanted a cold glass of wine to unwind and wait for my son to arrive as well from the airport. From the beginning, the service offered was first rate.The friendly and charming chef brought me my wine, asked if I needed anything else and was just so welcoming, I decided to peruse the menu and made arrangements via phone with my son, that we would dine at Mondi as the food being served to others looked delicious. Once we had our drink the chef ( wish I knew his name) suggested when we finished freshening up and came back he would do a personal selection of courses for us .So glad we went with this.Each course was superb, the scallops on a bed of black rice risotto was to die for,!! We both devoured that in seconds.Then the freshest salads, tasty garlic bread and the final dish of perfectly cooked lamb cutlets with delicious light gravy and olives was the perfect end to a lovely Traditional Italian dining experience. Honestly it was the nicest meal we have had in ages.The service was wonderful, the waitress attentive and approahably( this is important friendly ) the wine (and beer on tap) really cold and refreshing.Do try this restaurant and experience for yourself the creations and talents of the chef.When back in Melbourne I will definitely be returning. Thanks Mondi for a truly lovely reunion with my son.ita

  Had an amazing dinner here on Saturday night with my family . Service was brilliant and the food was incredible. The flounder which was a special was the best I had eaten anywhere and my kids rated the chicken Parma the best EVER! Seafood spaghetti with rockling and mussels was sooo good

  If you are in Lygon street bypass the usual and try Mondi.
