The fried chicken is spoken of very highly in Melbourne’s food scene so I was keen to check it out.
My visit coincided with their 1st birthday and had their signature fried chicken burger. Damn it was good, juicy moist chicken, very well flavoured, smoky, spicy and with heat.
The venue is very pub like, in fact there’s a pub in there as well full of locals and uni students. I look forward to trying their fried chicken under less crazy circumstances.
The atmosphere in this restaurant is very cool, i thied the signature burger and is really amazing the chicken was juicy, tender, crispy and spice outside, the bun was so soft and in general this burger is amazing!
Visited Sonny’s on their anniversary. They were giving out free chicken burgers. The sonny burger with fried chicken, slaw and mayo was delicious(yummmm..). It was pretty crowded and thus provided a very warm atmosphere.
Would definitely visit this place again for their burgers.
We ate fries, sonnys burger, and coleslaw today. This place is kind of place that you would come for chill drink beer with some snacks. It was okay, the price is good too, such a new experience for me.
We came into Sonnys fried chicken for some burgers, we ordered the cheese burger ( for me bunless with lettuce) and a side of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was good but was lacking a bit of flavour for my taste. The burgers however were very good, my patty was juicy and the sauces were perfectly portioned, I do wish I got to try some fried chicken as it is literally in the restaurant name. Guess its a good reason to come back ?
Really cosy and nice place for burger and beer. The Sonnys Burger is the best spicy chicken burger in Melbourne. Chicken Brest is deep fried and extremely juicy. Together with onion and lettuce, the burger itself is really tasty. The chips is also good. The tap offers Cooper Pale Ale, really a nice match for chicken burger.
Dont forget to come here on Wednesday night, one kilo buffalo wings for $20. Love the yummy crispy chicken wings.
I really like the fried chickens here. They are crispy outside but juicy inside. Very fulfilling. We also chips with bacon and cheese. That’s a bit greasy. Btw apple cider was fantastic
