Came to Lygon St with the intention of trying out Seasons Provedore.. sadly they were closed for lunch.
As I had two little toddlers in tow, I really wasn’t keen on trying to find another restaurant and suggested to my friend (who also had a toddler in tow) we meet up at the restaurant next to Koko black – Stuzzichino. Truth be told, I didn’t look up the reviews for this place and honestly wasn’t expecting much. (Hence no photos)
Now keep in mind that toddlers are not the easiest to entertain, especially when they out number the adults… Also.. mine are usually quite picky with their food being that they only eat asian meals at home – they will usually only eat hot chips out at a restaurant.
We were seated outside and supplied with three baby seats, which I watched the waitress carefully clean from top to toe (thanks!! So used to having to wipe down these seats myself).. service was all round lovely and the waitress was so attentive.
We ordered two entrees (aranchini and bruschetta), a spaghetti Bolognese and fat fries to share.
The food came out quite quickly.. the fries were actually delicious… So soft and creamy on the inside and crunchy on the outside – this crunch lasted until the end of our meal.
Aranchini came with a meat sauce and had plenty of flavour to it. Bruschetta was refreshing.
The pasta Bolognese was a tad sweet for my taste but my kiddos really enjoyed it and miss 4 even went for a second serve.
All together – it cost $60 (we also ordered a large sparkling water).
So, not your fancy schmacy restaurant, but good value for money, decent servings, decent foods and great service.
I’m so surprised this is only rated in the high 2s and definitely think it’s worth trying if you’re after a cheap, fast and decent meal.
Amazing coffee, service and food!! Very clean and friendly atmosphere with amazing staff members. Also, a great family environment. Will definitely be back again!
Stuzzichino is a restaurant run by an Italian family. Came by for lunch and it was fairly empty. Staff were professional and food came out fairly quickly, although my pasta order came out incorrect. It was still a reasonable eat but I feel there are other eateries I prefer in the area.

Went for lunch today and it was amazing.
I had the gnocchi which melted in my mouth and the sauce was so rich and delicious. My only complaint is I would have liked more.
Then dessert Nutella and strawberries it was delicious just needed a bit more ice cream.
Overall great.
Terrible experience. Customer service was incrediblypoor and clear lack of experience in dealing with patrons.
My family were visiting frominterstate, so I decided to take them here for brunch on a Saturday. Initially we were understanding about theuncleared tables, the long wait in receivingmenus, and missing out on receiving water (which other patrons who had arrived after us, received).
However, what was unforgivable, was the lack of notice that there wasan HOUR delay in receiving food. We have no issue in waiting, butan HOUR for food is ridiculous AND without prior notice to being seated. We noticed that no other patrons had been warned either. Everyone around uscontinually asked when their order was going to arrive. There were no sense of sympathy or apologies on the delays.
Asour orderwas being made, I was told that there was no more avocado left, and asked if I could change myorder something else. I chose another vegetarian option which was a little more expensive. As someone who has worked in hospitality, I personally wouldn’t have added anyextra charge onanother food item, as it was the venue’s error. The lady then proceeded to add the extra cost on top of the bill for the changed food item.
After a long wait, we asked how long the food would take, because my parents had a flight to catch. We were told 5-10mins. It was 15-20mins. Just as we were about to leave and cancel our order, our food came out. My parents ended up having to change their flight to a later time as a result of the delay. The younger wait staff were friendly but clueless on customer service, and the older lady who took our payment, was unapologetic and cold. This was one of the worst cases of customer service I have ever experienced.
We were the only table in the restaurant. No one came to see if our meal was ok , had to get up twice to ask for more Parmesan cheese and more drinks. Empty plates sat in front of us for 10 mins and we weren’t offered coffee afterwards. Staff were to busy having a chat in the back to offer any hospitality to the only customers in the shop. Went next door to Koko blacks to have coffee instead. Maybe your staff need more training in basic hospitality.
had a lunch in this nice little Italian. Special was Chicken Parma (which is a bit smaller than normal menu parma) and tiramisu for dessert. Parma was nice – tiny, but enough for lunch – not to have food coma hahaa – and tiramisu was good too. Not the best parma or tiramisu, but goes definitely to club of good food. . .
..about that tiramisu, I have to say that traditional would be better, kahlua instead of marsala won’t get much point from me. Have seen terrible abominations in non-italian restaurants, so would not expect these to happen in real Italian.
