The vanilla slice is fabulous. The bakery says it is the best one in Melbourne. Actually it is! I also tried lemon tart and passion fruit tart, all of which have well- baked shells and well-flavored fillings. The look of every dessert is gorgeous, just saying please eat me. I cannot wait the next time visiting French Lettuce.
I tried the cheesecake as well. Creamy thick cake it is. I begin to love cheesecake after this one in the French Lettuce.
Sausage roll is amazingly good! Love it!
Lemenrade tart is as tasty as it looks.
I have never got disappointed at the food in the French Lettuce.
Got a vanilla slice here and it was very nice, however I was expecting something a bit more amazing given the reputation of the slices here. That being said, still very good with a lovely pastry to boot

There are lots of sweet choices as well as some savoury pies to choose from. Large cheesecakes, mid ales right up to wedding cakes on offer.
There are only a few chairs and tables inside if you wanted to stay and eat but in warmer months you can sit outside and watch the world of Nicholson Street go by.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly sky. Good parking out the front.
A must visit.
Went to a pot luck birthday today where those that could bake, baked and those that couldnt bake went to The French Lettuce Patisserie & Bakery. We had a a selection of custard tarts and French vanilla slice which had a flakey crunchy pastry and a smooth creamy vanilla filling. An enjoyable treat.
