As Carnegie locals for quite a long time, we make it our business to try every new place that pops up along koornang rd. Lately some of the new places have been hit or miss, and this place was a BIG miss.
Firstly the positives; friendly staff and great service, the menu quite is quite extensive and exciting and, the restaurant itself is one of the cleanest I’ve been in.
Now, negatives; that extensive menu was waaay too overpriced (for Carnegie, considering you can get similar if not the same dishes and same quality basically anywhere in carnegie for half the price), the flavours of the food were strange (don’t get the beef and mushroom unless you’re after an unpleasant experience), drinks are overpriced and meh (lemonade with a few lychees chucked in will set you back $7.50), the place had more staff than diners (5 on the floor and not sure about the kitchen. I’m not sure how they pay their staff, but with those prices I’d hope its ABOVE award wage but I doubt it).
For 2 people it was $72 (dumplings, 1 main, 2 rice, 1 vegetables and 2 drinks). Average anywhere else similar in the street would be about $50.
Overall, don’t waste your money here! I’ve already wasted mine for you. I’m incredibly disappointed considering how many similar cuisine places have opened here recently you’d think these guys would do something different or special or at least have a decent price point to compete.
Tried chicken lobster here, the soup base is not bad, but feels like the chicken lobster should be cooked longer then it will be more tasty. But it came with some vegetables and tofu, which tasted better. They also have big round tables, good for families to have dinner together

Dined at Chilli Delight today, a new Chinese place that opened up recently in Carnegie.
General atmosphere reminiscent of every Chinese place in the area, nothing too special. It being newly opened, the furnishings, cutlery and overall floor area are also clean.
The wait staff were helpful and came when we called them but nothing exceptional. However, I will note that it’s difficult to communicate with them unless you speak Mandarin.
The biggest issue is the food. We ordered 3 dishes- a stir fry spring chicken dish, a lamb and potato dish, and French bean stir fry and eggplant dish. We also ordered the spring onion pancakes and some tea.
Every dish we ordered came back extremely salty and oily- the chicken and the lamb dishes especially seemed like they were cooked in a pool of oil. Also, excluding the spring onion pancakes and drinks, everything was also overloaded with msg (even more so than the average Chinese restaurant).
The chicken dish had hardly any meat in it and the smalls bits that were present were dry and filled with bones. The lamb dish on the other hand, had lamb so chewy and overcooked that it felt like we were eating bones.
The tea, which surprisingly came with actual tea leaves and a rather large cup, tasted more watery than my tap water at home.
Serving quite small plates, the prices made us question whether it was worth it or not, especially since they didn’t leave us feeling all that satisfied.
Other than that, they didn’t supply complimentary rice or tea/water like the other restaurants around them. Not too much of an issue here, but given that the prices for individual dishes were quite high and the abundance of choices close by, I think I’d rather go somewhere else.
I don’t recommend this place unless you’re absolutely desperate, and I don’t think I’ll be coming back.
I really liked their chicken and prawn dumplings – they were the best I have had in a long time. Super fresh and you can tell they were home made. We also had fried rice which was good but nothing special.
The service was really good – which is a big change from some of the other places in Carnegie.
I am keen to go back and try their other dishes.
