Nice enough venue, if you like the foyer of a Sheraton in Queensland. Service was average and the food was very bland. Salt has now been invented, so use the stuff. Massive potential; under cooked.
Pancakes were a hit for kids
Friendly Sunday place for a quick brunch
Kids played and Parents had somewhat quiet coffee
Will definitely return again
Thanks guys keep up the Great Job !
If you have dietary requirements dont go to this cafe. I swapped out some items in a focaccia as I cant eat dairy or mushroom. When my meal arrived the waitress said the kitchen staff said if you come back you wont be able to order like this again. The portions are set out in advance so youre taking food put aside for other meals.
I was embarrassed. Are there chefs working at this cafe? Is it so hard to put something together to suit a customer? Apparently so. If I wanted pre packaged/off the shelf food Id go to 7/11.
Dont worry Cafe Del Mar I wont be back to challenge your cooking skills, nor will my 6 fellow diners.
5 points for the kids play area. Negative 4 points for the food and service. After forgetting my order twice the food that arrived wasn’t really edible. If these guys took pride in the food they served, they could really be a super meeting spot for young parents. It’s a shame.
Visited this place for couple of times for take away and dine in.Their pizzas are must to try one.Loved the hot chips and pastas.
Waffles with Ice cream is kids all time favourite
Had a booking for 11 people for mothers day made a week and a half ago. Staff were not sure if they had space so they called back proptly to confirm the booking for 11 seats. Great!
I called the next day to ask if they can include a high chair in our booking of 11 to which they said no problem.
On mothers day (today) we added an extra person to the booking in the early morning, making it 12 in total. The manager on the phone quickly found my booking confirming it was for 11 people and said it was no problem to add one more. Excellent!
We get there and before even sitting down the manager ** TELLS ME OFF** for booking for 9-10 people and turning up with 12 in a very unfriendly manner. I’d like to add that my husband was next to me for every one of my phone calls and knows how many people were booked in. I did not make a mistake 4 times!
This ruined my morning and me feel pretty awful for the rest of my time there. I don’t deserve to be spoken to like I’m an idiot, especially in front of my whole family whilst celebrating one of my first mothers days.
Besides this, the food was overall quite good. My family were all happy with their meals which came out quickly.
Great play area for kids.
Not sure if I feel comfortable coming back though.
Cafe – great size inside with a large courtyard, plenty of space.
Food – I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki, it looked great and came with pita bread triangles, chips, chicken skewers, Greek salad and tzatziki. Everything tasted well seasoned and I enjoyed the dish.
My partner ordered the Garlic Prawns which when it carried at the table, was tiny compared to my main dish. Taste was good but I did feel sorry for him next to mine when he’d eaten his and I was only half way done!
When we went to pay it turned out they had put the order through as an entree not a main dish so it made more sense why it was small. Though disappointing from a customer perspective.
Drinks – I ordered tea which I was disappointed was not loose leaf in a pot.
Partner had a strawberry milkshake which was nice by he prefers a thick shake option.
Staff – all seemed happy and brought water over.
Will defiantly return again.
