Maybe Ive been spoilt by dragon hot pot but this was pretty sad looking. Very limited selection of meat read: only two meats and three different types of fish ball.
Rude staff member who rolled her eyes at me when I asked her how much it was. She just pointed to the screen and took my money. She didnt speak a single word to me which was kind of amusing but rude.
Got a black soup with loads of msg. Would not return, would rather travel further for decent ma la tang. Wondering if this place will be here next year. Go to dumplings workshop instead!

Edit- against my better judgment I went back. Poor quality of meat and the soup is literally just salt water with chilli oil. Theres a place up the road that does it much better. Also both times the cutlery was filthy.

We got lured into this place by the sight of a few people happily slurping up their noodles as we walked by.

We headed towards the counter to browse the menu which had items labelled in both English and Chinese, but provided no further description.

As I enquired about some of the menu items, communication proved slightly difficult as the young guy behind the counter spoke and understood minimal English. Despite that, we managed to place our order as he tried assisting us to his best abilities.

I decided on the Pork Mince Hot and Sour Potato Noodles and Chinese Hamburger. The potato noodles provided a pleasant chewy consistency which went nicely with my sour and spicy broth.

The hamburger consisted of what looked and tasted like deep fried wonton skins slathered with some tarty sauce, all wrapped in a Chinese pancake. Despite not knowing what to expect of it initially, we actually enjoyed it albeit being on the greasy side.

My partners Braised Pork Ribs Rice Noodles came in a spicy savoury broth where the ribs, as good as they tasted, were unfortunately chopped too small. He was constantly having to remove fine shards of bones from his mouth with every second bite, making it quite tedious to eat. On the other hand, the bowl of wontons he ordered (as always) were surprisingly good.

We left full and satisfied thinking to ourselves that we have found a new haunt, until 10 minutes later when I started itching all over like a dog with fleas and having hot flushes. Whenever this happens to me, it only points to one thing – MSG overload. My partner was more resistant and only got hit with the MSG thirst, which also got to me hours later.

I would love to go back for more, but after what I experienced that day, I would think twice. Is it worth the itch? Now that is one head scratcher.

Ordered one fried bread stick and I got totally cold one. So I asked to return it but I only got 2 dollar back, which is worth 3 dollar. Then I saw that the fried bread stick I just returned has been served to another table. The stick is even bited by me a little bit. This is truly DISGUSTING!.

Very traditionally Chinese canteen with soy milk and Chinese pancake, liked the street food. However, the taste of food is not very extraordinary and too too too spicy. I think it will be better to highlight which is spicy on their menu.
