Certainly up to its reputation, this very busy restaurant possibly offers the best dumplings in Melbourne. We tried several dishes and they were all delicious, abundant and well priced. The service was very kind and prompt, in spite of the full house. I would just add that the place needs to be redecorated, which I understand to be not such an easy task, considering the constant abundance of customers. I will definitely go back.

The food was amazing. The dumplings were one of the best I have had in Melbourne. Definitely will be coming back here. My boyfriend and I were saying that its close to having sex thats how good the food is.

My top pick to satisfy dumpling cravings in Carnegie! The pan fried beef dumplings were brilliant little crispy morsels, packed with flavour as was the fried XLB! The dumpling sauce they provide on the tables as the additional condiment was ace. 5 dishes for $42 is unbeatable value. Service was fine, best to have a good look at the menu, know what you want and order as soon as you get in as they get busy.

Fuelled with a massive hangover from the previous nights celebrations, my knotted gut was hankering for some hot and sour soup and Shanghai fried noodles, so we cancelled our initial plans elsewhere and came here instead.

At 6.30pm on a Saturday, they were already packed but we were lucky to secure the last table available. We ended up ordering a truckload of food and our waitress graciously offered us a bigger table when it became available.

My Hot and Sour Soup lacked the key elements that make up the name of the soup, so I tweaked it up with some vinegar, soy sauce and chilli oil that was provided at the table.

The Shanghai Style Fried Noodles was devoid of any wok heat that usually give these noodles its distinctive taste, but it was by no means bad although rather salty. The Stir Fried Green Beans were over cooked yet passable, and we did not fancy the Chicken and Prawn Wonton in Chilli Oil and Peanut Sauce as they were again too salty.

The favourites of the night would have to be the Stewed Mutton on Rice and the Pork Intestines with Chilli and Pepper. The tender mutton was full of depth and flavour, and the intestines with their crispy exteriors and chewy insides worked harmoniously with the dried chillies and numbing peppercorns.

Having previously tried their dumplings here, I reckon they are one of the better ones in this area where the competition is stiff.

The front of house crew deserve an honourable mention for their service. Despite a full house, they ticked all the boxes of good service.

Came by to satisfy our dumpling cravings but certainly didn’t expect the ones we tried to be so tasty! We had the signature pan-fried chicken and prawn which looked a bit funny because the dumplings were upside down on the plate, the mackerel dumpings which was one of the specials today, xiao long bao and juicy pork bun (highly recommended). All of them were very succulent and juicy. The service was good and dishes quite reasonably priced, would be back.
