I visited shyun for my friends birthday for some quality, reasonably priced japanese food. This is my third time dining here and Shyun never fails to disappoint!

I definitely recommend the beef tataki and sashimi here, my absolute favorite dish! Its so fresh without the use of overpowering flavours. Furthermore, it is so reasonably priced compared to what other restaurants are charging for sashimi!

Shyun was nice enough to bring out a cake id bought for my friend at the end of our meals so definitely a 5/5 for service!

I 100% recommend coming here if youre looking for some high quality, fresh japanese food at approx $20-30pp

Thank you for the amazing experience every time!

Ordered pork katsu one with egg the other no egg. This is what I have been looking for…some yummy Japanese don. I heard this place is famous for sushi, but the don is also good, I will definitely come back for the don, and may try some sushi as well!

This restaurant might look small on the outside but they actually stretches pretty long towards the back. They have a wide range of food from sushi, noodles and rice dishes. The sukiyaki don came with eggs and glass noodles. The sauce is nice although some part of the beef is a little tough. The curry is thick and cooked nicely. Pork katsu is crispy too. Will definitely come back next time to try again.

Was looking forward to try Shyun given the high reviews and ratings. However, upon looking at the menu it was quite underwhelming. Nothing stood out and ended up ordering a plate of sashimi. The sashimi quality was quite average and the portion size of each slice were quite thin.

I can tell the popularity of this restaurant from the customers coming and going. Food were all good and sashimi was fresh and tasty. Would like to try the soba next time.

So Ive been here a couple of times before and the food has always been alright – never amazing but does the job and it seems that the quality of the food has remained the same for quite some time now. However, the service has just gone downhill. I was surprised at how rude most of the staff were and this has honestly made me a little hesitant to go back and seeing as there are so many other amazing options in Carnegie, I probably wont.

    food 3/5 normal
    service 3/5 normal
    environment 4/5
A little disappointed, I cannot understand the restaurant that has nearly 2000 review for 4.4 point is so normal. it is just like a lunch bar. the food service too quick. i suppose it is prepared for w while. deep fry pork fried too long and curry already not flowed. ell have a strong fishy smell. i must to see Akita is far more better than this one. come here only you want a cheap lunch
