It wasnt my first time at Shyun Ramen Bar but now that I have experience living in Tokyo, I can compare their ramen to the authentic ones Ive had across Japan! I liked how my spicy minced pork ramen was not as greasy and didnt give me an upset stomach how a lot of the ones Ive ate in Japan did (usually because of how rich their broths were). I thoroughly enjoyed my bowl but for those that prefer bigger portions of food or guys the serving size may not be enough.
Catch up with friends last night in this place. Ordered one spicy sicuan ramen, it was sooooo good!!! We all really enjoyed it. But the noodles were not that much, maybe we were too hungry, didnt feel so full after finishing the remen. Maybe should order some side dishes, the fried chicken looks yummy, will try next time.
Really nice udon Shaun has offered. Well marinated beef and flavored broth gives udon a nice appearance. I really like the texture of udon, neither too soft nor to hard, just perfect.
Very mediocre ramen. Tokyo ramen tasted like Nissan two minute beef noodles. Egg tasted like a boiled egg. Very disappointing, even Ajisen ramen was better and that was horrible. Would have been better off staying home and eating mi goreng. Would not come back!
3.5 star. Its good but not as good as the H-ramen :p.
I had their pork ramen with shoyu based soup and tasted my friend chicken ramen with miso based soup. Love the miso one better haha. The chasu was pretty good tho, noodles were firm and nice, broth was a bit thicker than my liking, the softboiled egg was okay.
Their takoyaki was pretty good as well.
As Jpop pumps in the background whilst being greeted in both Japanese and English, stepping into Shyun Ramen Bar warped me back to Tokyo. It’s long counter bar looking into the kitchen resembles the authentic ramen bars in the back streets of Japan. Upon indulging in a bowl of ramen I experience a perfect elastic texture to its noodles, a lean and soft bite to the meat and a creamy and smooth broth that is now my favourite Ramen broth in Melbourne.
