The catch is a fish and chippery that also does a burgers menu. Whilst their seafood is pretty good, their beef burgers do let them down.
    The best bits:
Fish tacos here are pretty excellent, only thing is the fish batter can be a bit high in bi-carb soda Im pretty sure I could get a slight taste.
Overall one of the better fish and chipperies around with options from cheap and cheerful (including dim sims and potato cakes) to fancy dinner packs (incl. prawns).
    The not so good bits:
Whilst some things are excellent , they could definitely improve some areas ie salads could be better and salad servings could be larger. Found a bone in the fish bites once.
The beef burgers definitely need an overhaul or should just be omitted. Focusing on the great seafood would be better than serving burgers that can let the business down.
Otherwise as I said one of the better fish and chipperies we have tried!

Very clean restaurant with very friendly staff who have a strong passion for their food. They replace the oil they use everyday and make their own potato cakes which aren’t frozen. Vast menu options which is tested before being put out.

This is not your regular fish and chip shop. When we think fish and chips we think take away but I can assure you that this place more! As you walk through you already see fresh fish on display. Walk through and there is seating available its feels like a restaurant. The service was outstanding you could really feel the family restaurant vibe. Such a great menu with unique items listed. All the seafood was well cooked and presented nicely. Food is made with love and the place is run with

Absolutely cracking fish and chips. Fish taco’s are massive and beautiful, prawns are awesome and scallops great size. The fine wifey had one of the combo packs with her dory grilled and it was also top notch. Staff that work here make the place, really cool people who love what they do.

Pros: can see why this place has good ratings! Best fish and chips place I have been yet! Not like a normal local fish and chip shop but more of a restaurant feel. The fried seafood were all made very well. The chips and potato cakes were absolutely perfect, crisp and fluffy inside! Fish taco was great, the salsa was heavenly, the tanginess of it complementing well with the fish. Service was tiptop, the guy was very catering and genuine.

Cons: one bone found and a tiny bit undercooked batter in one of the fried fish but that’s it.

We were invited to The Catch yesterday to enjoy some fish and chips. This is a family business and truly something special. Theyve got plenty of experience behind them having run many previous restaurants over several decades in Melbourne. George who you might see cutting all the fresh fish actually used to own the Lobster Cave!

Located in a busy strip of shops less than a ten minute drive from Chadstone (aka where I was shopping prior) they are opened Tuesday to Sunday, naturally not Monday as the fish market is closed so they cant get fresh fish.

Different to a standard f&c shop doing takeaway only, there is a very nice area to dine in with beautiful artwork created specifically to reflect the owner Kostas Greek heritage as well as seating outside.

I had the grilled calamari tacos, absolute perfection and so different and unexpected. If you do want your classic battered fish and potato cakes rest assured they have that too and lucky for you their potato cakes are all made in house not to mention so are all their sauces!

I loved the potato cakes and hubby had grilled barra with roast veggie salad (salads also all made in house) which he loved. We also enjoyed the salt and pepper calamari for entree and reflected on how much tastier it was than what we were used to. Our only wish was that we lived closer so it could be some a weekly local

So pleased to be invited to dine last night at The Catch who are redefining your standard fish and chip shop. If we though Hunky Dory has revolutionised your classic f&c takeaway into something modern and cool then this is the next level again. Where have you ever seen your local fish and chip shop offering fish tacos?

Not only fish but also chicken tacos and the sensationally tender chargrilled calamari tacos.
We chose to sample all of the tacos which were full to the brim with delicious fillings and bursting with flavour from the homemade sauces. We also tried the house made Greek fish cakes which include a blend of four different types of fish and lots of fresh herbs, yummmm!

I loved the fresh salsa in the fish one and the marinade on the chicken, it is so supremely difficult to chose a favourite out of the three varieties I actually cannot do it.

The chicken burger was also a winner with a deliciously soft bun and plenty of avocado. Just delectable. This is simple food done with exceptional quality and care. You wont be able to go back to your flake pack from down the road

Tonight was my first time eating here, and I was blown away by every little thing about this place.
Calling up to make an order, the man on the phone was so polite and nice. When picking up the food, I was greeted by such a warm and friendly environment. There was a muck up with the order that was quickly fixed, and on leaving I got given a free salad!!!!!!!
We had two burgers and chips. The burgers were really good! Flavourism, massive and succulent. The chips were thick cut and with so much salt on them.
This was amazing. The place definitely deserves its high rating, and Id recommend it to anyone – if only just for the amazing service.
    Ill be coming back soon.
