It's a pretty typical pub with gaming. I've been here a few times over 6 months, mostly Tuesdays for $14 schnitzel. Food: the food is cooked right, ne…

Great steak and kidney pie! Tasty veal schnitzel
Best value food in town.. We have eaten at the Cumberland numerous times over the past few years and have never been disapointed. Any friends or family we have taken there have been more than impressed with the quality and prices of the meals. We have always found the staff friendly and efficient.
We always recommend the Cumby to anyone and everyone.
Sea food basket, cooked to perfection.
Pepper Sauce with the steak, best ever tasted in my life.
Just called in for a beer n snack and found the place to be quite pleasant. It’s certainly worthy of a much higher approval than it currently has. Worth considering.
Nothing fancy but great food and very quick service. Staff not overly friendly, but who cares about a few grumpy waitresses when the parma is good and only $12 (Tuesday nights only)
This bistro is very bogan for Castlemaine, which now has pretty high food standards. I had the grilled bassa, and it was the worst fish I’ve ever had. Texture like jelly and covered in pancake batter. The other options looked slightly better. I won’t be re-visiting though.
Michelle North. We went to this hotel for lunch on the 20/5/11. When we first arrived I had to go to the toilet to change our babies nappy. She made the mistake of using the loo in the gaming area.
No sooner than she had gone into the loo. She was accosted by a staff member who rudely told her that she was not allowed to change our baby in this area. Or the hotel could be fined $4000. This was our first visit to this family un-friendly hotel and will certainly be our last.
Because of this rude, arrogant and unfriendly staff member. Our group dicided to spend our $200 plus dollars to have lunch and drinks elsewhere. Staff need to learn the meaning of hospitality.
Fair. Traditional Pub Grub with large servings.
Food was good but its a bit over priced compared with Melbourne.
