I liked it a lot! Great atmosphere, for a relaxing Saturday night meal. The food was full of taste and heartiness, it was easy to tell that the produced had not only been chosen with care, but it had been prepared with a caring confident touch. It’s was real, and full of the tastes of the Season!
The combination of live jazz, food, wine, and the solid warm characteristics of the building, made it a night we’ll spent for me. For an up and coming business I am impressed.
How civilised!. Beautiful, elegant and delightful. The food is uniformly good, and the service excellent and professional.
My new favourite place. Love this place – ideal for sharing a few bottles with friends. Really good quality food. And while we were there, there was a big 60th happening along these beautiful, long wooden tables. Everyone there was having such a great time. I’m considering it for my engagement party. A beautiful, laid back space, staff were awesome, felt so at home.
A night to remember – thanks!. Fabulous food, service and dcor. Thanks for a great evening and for being so accommodating with our kids too on the first lovely night we spent at The New. The wine list was full of lovely locals and the tapas were delectable and very generous. We were unsure as to how our six year old and three year old would fare but the manager went away and found some pens and paper. So nice. We liked it so much that we rolled over the road two nights later minus kids (but with great local babysitter in tow) to really kick back and sample some heftier dishes. The free range pork was poached in local cider with a caramelised apple and sherry puree and celeriac remoulade. It was sensational. A couple of bottles of wine later, some jazz, an open fire to warm our toes and a crme brulee, we were very happy campers and rolled back over to our motel. Thanks local tourism office for recommending the babysitter so we could get out on our own for a night. Thanks Newnorthern for making that night one to remember.
Loved the new Newnorthern. What a find. from the outside its looks like a run down old pub, but walk inside and you are surrounded by an eclectic mix of old and new art, furniture and super comfortable beds.
Our dinner was fantastic. A small but locally sourced, seasonal menu. The Brussel Sprouts were to die for, as was the slow cooked lamb shoulder….it just melted in my mouth.
The staff were friendly and attentive, but not overbearing.
Central Victoria has a new destination!
Old pub reborn. Beautiful food… great showcase of local produce from food to drinks to live music… friendly service… and check in to one of the wonderfully refurbed rooms and wake up to the smell of freshly baked pastries and coffee… then off to explore local art scene
