I was lucky enough to visit the awesome team down at Mr Brightside on the weekend and left super dooper happy.
One of my most important, and often my favourite parts of going to visit these places is being welcomed by awesome staff. This definitely happened at Mr Brightside. The staff were incredibly friendly, and had great conversation. They also recommended me majority of the meals pictured below, and each were delicious.
FOOD – So what we ordered was:
MR. B BOWL – This was personally up there with one of the best wholesome bowls i have had. All the elements worked perfectly together, and they offer either Smoked Salmon or Chicken on the side. I chose the salmon..and YUMMMMO.
CHALLAH FRENCH TOAST – A picture says 1000 words, and so did the taste. These were perfection. Not too sweet with the mix of berries, maple syrup and mascarpone – to be honest, if you order the B BOWL, having the french toast as a dessert works perfect..( i eat alot).
BREAKFAST BOARD – I always love a breakfast board, its smaller portions of the best of both worlds ( sweet and savory). The smashed avocado was very yummy, however, i didnt try the granola but it did look very good!
DRINKS –
We had chai soy lattes and these were perfection, i love the way they were presented and that you can self pour..its not as common anymore, so i really enjoyed that.
We also got a couple of juices, as we hadn’t ordered enough… the Vegetable juice and the green juice..just for good measure. Both 10!
Overall it was just a really pleasant visit, with all factors being tops! Thank you again guys I loved it!
I visited Mr Brightside with friends for Sunday brunch around lunchtime and it was bustling. Located on Booran Road, its obviously popular with the locals & plenty of seating outside for those who had brought their dogs.
We all ordered the freshly squeezed watermelon juice and a few dishes to share. A really great menu of Modern Australia flavours with plenty of variety.
The Mr B Bowl was my favourite, I actually ordered it as I saw it on another diners table & it looked too good to miss. With pickled carrot & cabbage, broccoli, avo smash, corn, edamame, tomato salsa, brown rice, corn chips, quinoa & a sesame dressing, it was packed with flavour, colour and texture. We added poached chicken which was perfectly cooked & tender. Probably the best nourish type bowl Ive had & we all loved it.
The Bubble & Squeak dish was tasty and the chorizo & pea pure was a nice contrast to the cheesy croquettes.
The Eggs Benedict was served on Turkish bread with really tender pulled pork, apple & green sriracha Hollandaise. A generous serving & delicious.
We finished with the Challah French toast served with raspberry mascarpone, fresh berries & maple syrup. Im such a big fan of French toast made with Challah bread, if its on the menu, I always order it. This dish was not too sweet & absolutely divine, we all loved it & it was the perfect end to a lovely brunch. Thanks so much for having us.
The First thing I noticed when I walked into Mr Brightside was how packed it was ! Our brunch started off with 3 freshly squeezed watermelon juices and we opted for a few dishes to share.
The bubble and squeak dish had great presentation however I was sad to hear they had ran out of haloumi. We were able to replace it with a hash brown which was homemade and extremely crunchy . The cheesy croquettes in my opinion could be more cheesy as at first bite I thought it was just a mashed potato croquette . The crushed peas below the dish added a nice texture and tied the dish together
The nutrition bowl with poached chicken was bright and tasted fantastic, we especially loved the poached chicken and the sesame dressing , there was a generous amount in the bowl which we all liked
The eggs benedict was another dish we all enjoyed, the apple on top provided freshness to the dish and we loved the slow cooked pork which was rich in flavour with the hollandaise and spinach. This dish was packed and loaded !
We ended our meal with the challah French toast, Challah is my favourite type of bread to use as a French toast as it provides such a unique flavour. The berries , mascarpone and syrup are classic flavours that pair well together
Thank you for having us !
I loved this place and thought the eggs benedict was amazing ! Even the mr b bowl tasted good with the simplest of ingredients. The aai bowl was good too 🙂
Also had coffees and they were the bomb
We were lucky enough to be invited in for brunch at this cafe. They were so busy on Sunday brunch, but the food came out really quickly.
We ordered 3 dishes and some drinks, which were granola, Bubble & Squeak and Mr B Bowl. Our favourite one is granola, it comes with orange poached pear and pink panna cotta. It is a perfect combination between sweet and sour. The bubble & squeak was also on point, we love their cheesy croquette.
The staff was really attentive!
