Since we didn’t know the fish head must book in advance, only had the fish meat with pickled chilli paste. Chilli was not such hot, so I was a little bit disappointed, but tasted still good.

Yangcheng is a small place, but the food is great and the service is very attentive and polite. I enjoyed all the food we had, and found it to be very wholesome, despite the rich appearance and very measured level of spiciness. It all went down without a hitch and I felt pleasant afterwards. The calamari was probably my favourite, even though it wasn’t crispy like it said on the menu. The sauce was really tasty and the flesh had good texture. The chicken and bean curd dishes were also very nice. It was a slightly different form of Chinese cuisine than I’d previously experienced, but great work, and I would return.

Food was of good quality. Nothing to spicy or too salty or sweet. Service was great – table was set, tea was served and refilled and napkins provided whenever required. Servings just a bit small (I’m a big eater). Overall great experience.

Services were good, food were all hot and yummy. Very traditional Hunan food with reasonable prices. The sticky rice cake dessert was the highlight of the dinner. It was fresh made, hot and fully covered with syrup. The stir fried pork liver was tender and full of flavour as well! (very spicy). If you like to try some traditional Chinese spicy food, Yangcheng will be a good choice.

ordered their special duck which tasted weird, and their rice dishes with choices of meat & veggie which tasted so-so.

Tried their famous fish and it was good, the red chilli was yum but the green one was just okay. The long bean was just okay, the chilli chicken pieces was okay but too much chilli compared with the chicken, the chicken with bambooshoot was awful, the smell was just wrong, shouldnt order that one. The duck was also just okay, didnt fancy the spices taste. Pig intestine was yummy! Overall will go back for their chilli fish and pig intestine.

Very transitional Chinese cuisine with excellence customer service. The food is absolutely amazing that we only can be able to find in China. It is a combination between Hunan style and Cantonese style. So it nicely suits everyone doesn’t matter if u love spicy or not. Highly recommended!!!
