We were invited to try out the ‘Devonshire Tea’ at Regnier Cakes. We love a tea and scone any day of the week so we graciously accepted the invitation.

Regnier Cakes is owned and operated by an award winning pastry chef with over 18 years of experience.

The business makes over 300 Cakes a year and their head baker and owner enthusiastically shared with us her passion for her business.

The owner decided to expand earlier this year to also serve a delicious selection of luxurious cakes, desserts, slices, scones, coffee and their very unique Blooming Teas in store. It’s clearly successful as there were a number of patrons coming in and out of the store during the time we were there.

The cafe/store also sells locally made jams, cards and their blooming teas. They also have a matching coffee machine that matches the decor which I loved!

The cafe is tucked away in a quiet suburban street in Cheltenham with an outdoor seating area.
As we arrived we were offered a selection of scones from their Devonshire Tea selection and their wonderful Blooming Teas.

We opted for sweet and savoury scones.
-Cheese and Chive with a spread of butter
-Gluten free sultana scone with a spread of strawberry jam and cream
-Plain Scones with Apricot and Rasberry Jam with cream.

My favourite scones were the Gluten free as they were light and not as dense as others I have had in the past.

My only criticism would be that the jams and cream were already applied to the scones.
My preference is to have the jams and cream in serving dishes so you can apply them as I don’t like too much/or very little cream.

Our favourite part of the experience was trying the Blooming Teas. I have never seen anything like it! I did some research and found out when steeped in hot water, the hand tied blooming flower tea delicately unfurls to provide a stunning floral display. The Blooming Teas are sourced locally too. They have the widest selection of these unique teas and we opted for the White Tea Lavender and Rosella and Jasmine and Cinnamon.

Overall, the Blooming Teas were the best part of the experience. I would definitely come back to try the delicious cakes and slices on offer and the variety of Blooming Teas.
