Two Trailer Made Girls Go Round the Outside. Finally caught up with the lovely ladies from Trailer Made food truck at the launch of the South Melbourne Night Market. Had been tracking their movements via Twitter & Facebook for a while, but hadnt managed to meet up.
Business partners Casey Norman and Amy Roberts have sidestepped burgers and tacos and composed a menu that appears to be more focused on serving up fine fare, rather than slavishly following any trend.
Caseys prior experience includes time in the kitchen at Cumulus, which may explain why the potato latkes I sampled were so damn good. Often latkes are heavy & greasy, but these were the complete opposite and went down a treat with the accompanying zesty slaw and aioli. I came across Trailer Made again at the Coburg Night Market and couldnt resist ordering another serve of those divine potato latkes.
Trailer Made has just launched its summer menu which incorporates Middle Eastern inspirations and includes a shawarma of shaved lamb served on their own Trailer Made flat bread, a Mezze plate plus a grain salad with quinoa & cracked wheat and more.
If the rest of the menu is anywhere near as good as those latkes, Ill be chasing down the Trailer Made food truck regularly.
