One of the larger Indian restaurants in Clayton, Haveli occupies the entire corner opposite the train station, and has been around for quite some time.
The menu is well laid out with sections for South Indian, Indo Chinese and North Indian.

We get shown a table upon entry, and a couple papadums are provided with mint yoghurt and imli chutney, which is good cos I’m starving.
After that, service becomes nonchalant. 10 minutes pass up and I’m not sure if I order at the till or if it’s table service.

I go up to the till to order anyway – one girl is on the phone taking orders, and another girl in the corner on her mobile.
Quite some time passes before the food arrives, around 25 minutes.
The empty tray of papadums aren’t removed for the entire meal.

*Butter chicken – has more of a fresh taste to it and not as rich as others I’ve tried. Kind of missing that particular flavour I’m after.
*Lamb Saag – apparently the chef’s special, chunks of lamb were tender with a spinach gravy.
*Garlic naan – hot and fresh out of the tandoor, the fluffy bread had crispy bits and brushed with butter and garlic.
*Lachaa paratha – hot and flaky, the bread has more taste from the wholewheat.
*Masala dosa – huge thin crispy crepe filled with mashed potato, lentils and spices.

Gave the restaurant a go, but I think I’ll go back to my favourite a few shops down.

This Indian restaurant just in front of Clayton station serves some mouthwatering delicacies. Mango lassi is a definite try here. The Indian sweets are also good.

Have been here a couple of times and the experience can be a bit hit and miss. This time around tried there Pani Puri, Chicken Garlic Noodles, Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken 65, Kadhai Paneer, Laccha Paratha and Butter Naan. The pani puri was pretty ordinary with not much tang to it. The noodles although pretty oily were tasty, butter naan, chicken 65 and paneer were fine as well. Fried rice was fairly dry and drab imo. Laccha paratha was pretty abysmal as it was really doughy. They accept Card payments and parking options are very minimal near the place.
