There are so many dumpling restaurants opening all over Melbourne. Ping’s is an OG in this regard. Pan fried or steamed they both taste great. The chicken & prawn will always be a personal favorite. If you’re in Clayton definitely give them a try.
The negatives: If you’re getting takeaway they can come across really oily in the container. In addition the non dumpling section part of the menu is really hit or miss
Very busy dumpling store in Clayton so we decided to give it a try! Really liked the xiao long bao and the dumplings we got but the dumplings were not crispy 🙁
We also got a mushroom noodle soup – this has a lot of flavour which shocked me as usually I find these soup noodles a bit bland
Love this place. Its a well known dumpling house for good reason. Food is delicious and affordable. Love the chicken and prawn pan fried dumplings and the wontons. Cash only is the only downside.
Dumplings r good here. I had the Chinese Spanish dumplings n my partner had chicken and prawn dumplings. The soup of mine was delicious but I think it was a little bit salty.
I came here for lunch with my brother and dad as a simple Fathers Day lunch and we all had a great meal!
The food was delicious!!! We had spring onion pancakes, Shanghai noodles, Shanghai dumplings, pork and cabbage fired dumplings as well as pork and cabbage boiled dumplings, all was very yummy. Unlike some other dumpling places the dumplings here were very fresh.
The food came out pretty quickly despite the place evening packed full and very busy.
I will defiantly be coming back here!
My score 4 stars. Whenever J & I visit our friends at their small farm at Pearcedale, on the way back home we divert off the Monash & get some TA dumplings for dinner from Ping’s. No frills interior, but if we lived nearby we would drop in regularly for a dine-in serve of dumplings hot from the kitchen (the best way of course). We only ever get Boiled Vego & Pan Fried Vego dumplings, but they are delish & good value. Gets pretty busy (even for TA) if you can’t avoid peak meal times. Asian grocery really close by too, so handy for a pantry top up…
After raving reviews from Savvy And Lifestyle I had to come back to pings as it had been a while. Was craving a good dumpling. So glad I came to Pings as the dumplings were just great! The dumpling all around was great. $10 for 12 dumplings value for money
