Its evident that this cafe has set up shop in a building with history (formerly a workhouse for prisoners at Pentridge to make shoes and boots for the prison guards.) Inside the red-brick establishment is an interior thats surprisingly funky with vintage furniture, chic decor and colourful everything. The atmosphere is cute and the vibe is peaceful. Unfortunately, we found the service to be somewhat mediocre. Upon entering the cafe (where the sign said please wait to be seated), it took a while for staff to acknowledge us. When our food and drinks came out, we had to ask for water and cutlery. (The two should usually be set on the table before the food comes out) Staff also werent as friendly as other places…. Food wise, the presentation of each dish that we ordered was pretty. Taste wise, the avocado smash and fruit toast was average. However, the Wild rice & grain salad with crispy skin poached chicken was a winner. The flavour combinations worked so well together, and it was a bonus that the dish was a healthy and nutritious one.
Overall, this was a nice place but I wouldnt go out of my way to come back.

Tried this place out today, pretty cute.
Shared a ricotta hot cake and the granola with my sister, not sure I couldve finished the hot cake on my own but it was DELICIOUS. The granola was also tasty, great lychee flavour, and although I usually have granola with yogurt the milk was alright. Hot cake takes about 20 minutes to come out but its worth it.
Got a chai latte which was nice. Im not a fan of honey so to find some was at the bottom the glass was a bit annoying but the chai itself was good.
The lunch menu look pretty good so we might go back and try at some point.
Pro tip: Check out the cakes fridge.
