We had visited The Glass Den twice and both times were exquisitely beautiful! Heres why!

    First visit (summer menu):
Nourish bowl – a bowl with butterfly pea rice, seared salmon, edamame, pickled ginger and daikon, avocado, sriracha nori and kewpie! When it first came out, it was like an edible rainbow and whats better was it was healthy and absolutely delicious! The flavors all worked well together – the sourness of the pickles, the sweetness of the butterfly pea rice and the savoriness of the seared salmon!

Chocolate waffle – as you can tell from the picture, this was literally an egg waffle served with chocolate cream, chocolate brownie soil, Reeses buttercups and Malteses! Wow, what a super sweet combo – this pretty much satisfied my sweet tooth! The best part of this was how fluffy the egg waffle was and that you could use the other elements as a spread hence why this was my favorite for the first visit!

    Second visit (winter menu):
Blue cheese benedict – this was a special we had which served up eggs benny with beef cheeks and blue cheese hollandaise sauce on a house made roll! All I can say was the beef cheeks were absolutely tender and melts in your mouth and the blue cheese hollandaise was such a genius idea adding flavor to the already savory dish! A special mention was the crunchiness and softness of the house made roll – some rolls become too hard if left alone for too long but this was perfect!

French toast churros – coming with marshmallow nibs, peanut butter cups, matcha soil, Nutella ganache, meringue and raspberry sorbet, you would think the flavors wouldnt work together but it did! The reason why this was my favorite of this visit was how all these flavors worked together – the sweetness of the french toasts (coated with Nutella ganache) and matcha soil complemented the sourness of the sorbet. Cloud 9 was clearly happening in my mouth!

Strawberry cheesecake waffle – served with strawberry crisp pearl, raspberry soil, fresh wild berries, raspberry meringue and strawberry cream cheese and gelato, this was very close to my favorite for the visit! The sweetness of the egg waffle and strawberry cream cheese and gelato were the highlights for me as each bite provided a melting sensation!

Overall, we were extremely impressed with the consistency of The Glass Dens dishes and would love to try the rest of their dishes soon! Well done guys and keep up the good work!

The pictures of the dishes speak for themselves. They are more like pieces of art than meals. However the taste is a more hit or miss and the service, during peak hours was more miss. I had the coconut sago bowl and the nutella waffles.

Saw this cafe all over instagram. Their food are all pretty and colourful, definitely instagram-worthy! They offer indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for the outdoor seating, since it had great lighting.

    Roti Hotcakes
    Price: $20.5
    Taste:
The roti hotcakes were really good. I wished the matcha ice cream had a stronger flavour. The candy floss had a slight flavour to it, which I rarely find anywhere else. Overall, this was an enjoyable dessert, although it was lacking in flavour.

    Blue Cheese Benny
    Price: $22.5
    Taste:
This had the same roti as the hotcake, which I loved! The meat was flavourful, perfect with the perfectly poached egg. The sauce was good, but I was expecting more of the blue cheese flavour. Nevertheless, it was still a really good dish.

    Strawberry Cheesecake Waffle
    Price: $23.5
    Taste:
The instagram star here! The dish was very beautifully presented. The waffle was crispy and soft inside. The strawberry cheesecake gelato was really good. This dish wasnt overwhelming at all, since the strawberry made it more refreshing. It was surprisingly light, a perfect way to end the meal.

    Fat Fries
    Price: $12.5
    Taste:
These fries were one of the best fries Ive ever tasted. The fries were fat, but crispy, not soggy at all. Their seasoning was already tasty, but the wasabi aioli definitely took the fries to the next level. The wasabi aioli was really delicious. There was no overwhelming taste of wasabi, instead, the slight hint of wasabi made it even better. The sauce was too little for the amount of the fries, so we asked for extra sauce, and they gave it for free! This was no doubt the highlight of the meal.

Overall, The Glass Den did live up to the hype. It wasnt disappointing at all. The dishes were all tasty and enjoyable. It was definitely one of the best instagram-worthy cafe in Melbourne.

The food here is so colourful and will definitely put a smile to your face. Taste-wise, theyre delicious too. (The only criticism I have is that the quinoa toast from the peach & avocado bruschetta was so hard! Biting through the crusts hurt whilst cutting with a knife and fork was tiring). The flavours of the dish overall tasted similar to what youd find in a burger A good thing if youre not expecting something close to the classic smashed avocado toast breaky. On the other hand, the coconut sago pudding (which takes some time to come out as stated on the menu) was small but yummy. I loved how the taro sorbet melts and makes it easier to swallow everything in the bowl. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. It was a bit hard to get the attention of staff (even when it wasnt busy), but we werent in a rush the atmosphere is airy and spacious. **NOTE: No split bills and theres a 1.65% surcharge on card.
