Egglab was very quiet on our visit. Which I felt made it a bit awkward to talk to each other at the table. You could tell both guys behind the counter were bored.
The food was nice, nothing special. Filled the gap. But not something worth going out of your way for.
Would really rate this place – absolutely delicious for a cheat meal or a treat yoSELF
Ordered:
Mr Potato Head: crispy fried bacon, fried potato hash, cheddar cheese, tomato relish and a medium fried egg ($11.00)
Iced Tea ($4.50)
Review:
The potato head tasted like a really gourmet egg bacon brekkie from maccas but I’m not complaining!
Toasted, soft sweet brioche bun, delicious crispy egg with crunchy hash brown, smooth melted cheese and salty fried bacon makes this an absolutely memorable experience. I’m talking melt in your mouth deliciousness.
Iced tea was refreshing and a good cut to the heaviness of the burger.
Due to Egglab’s massive storefront window, you’ve got a flooding of natural light which makes it amazing for photos and helps to create a really clean atmosphere. Their interior is also interesting – it’s fun to look around while your food is being prepped!
Although we were eating inside, they treated us as though we were takeaway customers. Given a number on a paper receipt, we would pick up our own food from the kitchen top as they called out our number when the food was done.
There’s a really good opportunity here to make the whole experience more personal – whether calling out our names instead, or giving us a table number vs. individual numbered receipts.
