We were invited to Goon tonight for some Korean bbq. The place itself had a pleasant atmosphere and I enjoyed the retro tunes. I started with a peach soju. This is something Ive ordered at Korean a few times but clearly its been a mixed version as this was straight alcohol and very strong indeed.
We chose the beef set which was $74 for two. It was accompanied by a range of sides but for me it wasnt filling and particularly not for the price. We would be lucky to have received 300g of meat between us and given it was comprised of beef belly (thin slices that were half beef and half fat), and beef la galbi, aka ribs which was a lot of bone, the actual eating content was minimal.
My dining companion favoured the popcorn chicken side and I liked the corn cheese but ultimately I question the value. You expect to get the meat sweats with Korean bbq but instead I found myself eating a chocolate bar to reach that satisfied state

This place is only a couple of months old and despite that it was packed last night. With this BBQ restaurant its a carnivores paradise, with some delicious cuts of meat such as pork belly, some eye fillet beef and some tasty ribs.
Most of the dishes are gluten free too which is great.
We were given some different sauces and dry seasoning to dip the meats in. OMGosh these were sooo delicious!
The corn w cheese mozzarella was soo naughty but it tasted sooo good hahaha this is definitely a must try.
And I cant forget the Sense Soju, this was really and my gosh it was strong, I had the original one and it was excellent. Im glad I wasnt driving hahaha
Overall I had an excellent night w some amazing tasty food. This place is a must visit if you are a carnivore who likes some old school fun. Happy days.
And thanks to the owner for the invitation to visit their restaurant. Ill be back!
