We came here for a birthday dinner. The food delicious and service was impeccable. We had the full 8 course menu. My favourites were the abalone in corn soup, marron with peas and the smoked maple ice cream. The corn soup was packed full of flavour and the abalone and shiitake mushrooms were the perfect accompaniments. The marron was cooked to perfection but the star of the dish were the peas which were delightful. The smoked maple ice cream was creamy, smokey and perfectly balanced. My partner and I were very satisfied with the dinner. Service was excellent too.
Went here for our anniversary dinner and we had the summer special sample menu. It was a 4 course off the their regular menu. The decor and ambiance of the place was nice and romantic. The food was great, although surprisingly the taste was mostly a bit too salty for our liking. It was a bit surprising to us as usually fine dinings food are a bit shy with their seasonings. The bread and their home made peanut butter was absolutely fantastic. Their dessert, though, was the star dish that night. It was called The Blackbox and we had to crush it to know whats inside and it tasted fantastic. Overall, it was a very enjoyable anniversary dinner date.
I would probably give this a 3.5-4 rating. We opted for the four course menu but I probably wouldnt order the first two dishes again (asparagus and fish- delicate and flavoursome but not very memorable). The pork belly with miso and chorizo sauce was better. Luckily the meal ended with a high- the black box was delicious. Overall it was an enjoyable evening but I wont be in a rush to return.
Really enjoyed each of the courses that came out. Enjoyed the 5 course selection but the wine was probably not matched as well as I would have liked. Friendly wait staff and beautiful surroundings. (Ate there in July, 2018)
