Probably one of the nicest pub meals I have had for a very long time. We started with the bruschetta and then ordered the Barramundi from the Specials board and the Porterhouse from the menu. Great desserts and reasonably priced wine list. We will return.
Have had dinner here a couple of times as our son lives in the area. The service is attentive table service for drinks. The food is sensational. We had Bruschetta as an entree and it was delicious-fresh, and crunchy. I had the fish of the day-Rockling cooked to perfection with vegetables. My son had roast beef and vegies which he stated was delicious. only complaint was there was no Yorkshire pudding! And my husband had the pasta with seafood – also delicious. Would highly recommend this pub. A typical inner city character pub that also has an extensive selection of beers too. Looking forward to our next meal there!
A historic pub with rustic charm, I fell instantly in love with this place upon stepping in. The dining area is beautiful with great ambience. Excellent service and food is also served very fast. I had the mixed seafood platter which I really enjoyed, especially the crab which was fresh and juicy. Hubby had the porterhouse and asked for it to be medium but it came more like medium rare? Overall quite a good meal and I recommend it!
Cracking pub fare. Outstanding $28 porterhouse and fab Parma. Great starters and excellent service rounded off the night quite nicely.
Great food in a historic old pub.
What’s not to like about this little gem of a place?
The staff are friendly and make you feel at home the minute you arrive.
Great selection of dishes on the menu.
I highly recommend the Lamb with mint gravy.
Will be back for sure.
One of the best in Collingwood.. Great venue, nice and cosy in the winter and great for a beer in the summer good quiet location and above average pub food with some great pastas on the menu, this place is my first stop when I’m in Collingwood!
Never quite hits the spot. I’ve been coming here for years, mainly because I have friends who love the crab & mussel hot pot. Not being a big fan of seafood, I’ve been working my way through the rest of the menu and can honestly say I don’t recall truly enjoying anything I’ve ordered. On my most recent visit I ordered the steak sandwich, which was tasty enough, but so sloppy that the toasted focaccia quickly disintegrated and the whole thing had to be eaten with a knife and fork (for a truly great steak sandwich, the Standard Hotel’s offering is the one to beat). My girlfriend ordered the agnolotti (or similar) amatriciana, in which the pasta – undercooked to the point of floury chewiness – and was mostly glued together in clumps of 3 or 4 pieces.
I’ll be back. The staff at The Leinster are good hosts, my friends love the hot pot and I love being with my friends, but I’ve pretty much given up hope of ever getting a really decent feed here.
