I came with an asian foodie group today that I co- organise. My whole booking process was so easy, with Alan being very efficient and such a lovely host. This is a lovely family run business and you can see they are passionate, from the first moment you step in the door. Our half of the table ordered the salted fish veggies, vegetarian fried rice, half a hainanese chicken (very big serving) served with traditional chicken rice, pork platter-succulent with a perfect crunch and the Kam Heong Calamari. We will definitely be back. Thank you Raffles! It was a pleasure 🙂
The old raffles place in Collingwood. It is a 4.5 out 5 experience for my lunch. I ordered the hainanese chicken rice set. It was nicely presented and came with the ginger chilli source. Apart from the a bit dry rice, the chicken was nice tender and juicy. Good place to try the Singapore and Malaysian cuisine. Definitely recommended.

I adore Old Raffles Place. Not for the food, which is good albeit a bit overpriced, but for the aesthetic, ambiance and charm of dining in a culinary institution. As for dishes, the Penang Char Kuo Kay and Tao Payoh Chye Tow Kueh (both radish cake dishes) always strike my fancy, although the super saucy Gado Gado is also nice.
