Food ok but service was beyond shocking. We had to wait 1 hour when the bistro was half full. When we were finally seated we were on a table was wasn’t big enough to fit our plates and drinks. Once we finished our mains we couldn’t get the wait staff ( of which there were many) to clear our table so our desert could be served. All in all very disappointing.

Very popular on a Wednesday night with a huge special on the parmigiana’s. Fare is typical bistro fare with a separate play area for the kids.

Standard pub food, nothing amazing and they actually forgot the kids meals! My medium steak was well done and the onion rings soggy
But probably fairly standard and expected for this type of venue

You do need to book ahead or you will get that look from the head waiter/waitress. Nice decor, basic self service.Menu is varied to suit most people.Have been there twice nowNothing was outstanding but also nothing really bad either. Every day pub club food. Serving size is smaller then i expected for the price at an RSL

Forget about a meal and the footy. Went to the sports bar to watch the footy. Tried to order a meal, told they don’t serve meals in sports bar. Apparently it’s because they get busy. I said other places manage and was scoffed at. Ordered a meal in the bistro under a TV showing a footy match. Asked to change games because no one was watching it. Told they aren’t allowed to due to management rules. Ended up watching game on my phone at the table.

Average pub style food. Ribs very dry and overlooked, chips cold, salad no dressing. Avoid.

I visited this RSL because they were listed in the Gluten Free Eating Directory (a Coeliac sufferer app which we use to locate safe places to eat) where they claimed to have an amazing range of salads, pastas, other dishes and desserts that were Gf and safe for coeliac sufferers to consume. I’m reporting them to the Directory and asking they be removed.

When I arrived there was one entree I could have (calamari) which I don’t eat so no entree for me. No problem, I’ll have a main and dessert, so wasn’t to phased by this. The main menu however didn’t offer the salads and pastas etc, it just offered two Gf options (chicken schnitzel and chicken Parma), I wasn’t in the mood for that so I ordered the special – pork belly.

    It was absolutely awful!

The pork itself was so dry I could barely cut it and after a few mouthfuls I actually gave up. It was covered in an awful spicy tomato chutney – since when have pork and spicy tomato been a good match? I’ll take apple sauce any day. The crackling (which did look delicious) was smothered in the chutney so that was ruined, and aside from the pumpkin every vegetable on the plate was so overcooked it fell to pieces in a soggy mess when I tried to spear it with my fork. I left it mostly uneaten.

But it’s okay – I still had dessert, right? Oh wait, no I didn’t, because despite their advertising they had not a single dessert item available! I did get an enthusiastic apology from the waitress though. My husband cancelled his dessert order and we left.

Now, I’m very forgiving of restaurants who don’t have GF items – it’s not realistic to expect everyone to be able to cater to my super irritating disease, but don’t ADVERTISE your restaurant on a Coeliac sufferer resource like the GF Eating Directory and not follow through!

    A disappointing night out.
