We found the food very bland and not well presented Slab of slow cooked lamb with kale plonked on top and nothing else served with it.Risotto tasteless.Service rushed as the waiter had to leave at 9 pm so we were presented with 2 courses within like 30 minute s to fit the wait staff roster not our needsWine expensive. Why is 300 to 350% mark up the norm these days. The food had pre prepared bistro quality to it not restaurant quality. The food taking 2nd or 3 Rd place to ambience and profiteering from wine sales here. Overall very disappointing and expensive for this type of food.

My partner and I enjoyed Friday dinner at Frederic’s – we had the squid ink orecchiette, grilled brocolini with mixed nut vinaigerette, scotch fillet steak with shoe string fries and shared the berry souffle. On to Fred’s bar for a night cap and a chat with the bartender, Michael, which topped the night off.

Beautifully set up. Good interior and pretty intimate. Service was outstanding. Good place to celebrate special occasions. Our dinner was lovely. If you are around this area and looking for a nice dinner place to go, this place would be one of my good recommendations

The decor and ambience was very pleasant.  Unfortunately, we went there just before Christmas and there were a number of large table groups there for Christmas break-up, and the place was a little noisy with the hard surfaces. Menu and Specials Board had sufficient choices without being over the top.  We had Grilled Octopus, Frederic’s Salad and Agnolotti for entrees, and Garfish a la Plancha, Glazed Lamb Scotch, and Grass-fed Porterhouse for Mains.  All the food was well prepared, with fully developed flavours, and didn’t disappoint expectations.  The Lamb Scotch particularly was melt-in-the-mouth.  Only slight criticism was that when Mains were served, we had to ask and wait a fair time for the sides of string fries and mixed leaf salad.  There were plenty of waitering staff who were very professional, even if a little humourless, but provided quick service.

Really quite a surprise, whilst it is not quite a cheap eat, the service, decor and food quality was on par with a higher end restaurant. We felt really well attended to at all times and the ambience was on point. The food was surprisingly, I light lighter food so typically avoid French but there were some really great lighter options which left me most satisfied. Huge shout out for the crab and corn madeleines, just wow.
