Sadly we were left with regrets that casalinga has slipped in both service and food. We ate here in March and waited 1 1/4 hours for seafood platter and only got sorry but there is a large table in tonight when we asked about meal. Not an appropriate excuse for poor service to your other patrons. Also platter was not complete as listed.
Ate here again last night as thought we might have had a one of experience last time. Im sorry to say that service was again poor. One patron was very upset with waitress and loud confrontation ensued. Staff very nice but poorly trained for this type of restaurant. Both answered to every interaction no worries all night. The menu has changed to Autumn and has less choices than previous menus. I chose the seafood pancake which when it came had obviously been sitting under heat as sauce set and exposed pancake was hard.
This is a great restaurant that seems to have slipped a bit but could be better with just a bit of concentrated effort

Came in for dinner early Saturday evening, were seated promptly and received good service overall. Food came out really fast (bit too fast maybe, garlic bread was lukewarm and a bit stale as though it was reheated). Calamari and popcorn chicken were delicious (albeit a tad overpriced) as was the chicken avocado pasta. Would definitely return :-).

A terrific little restaurant on the highway just a little beyond Ringwood. While I hadnt been for a few years, the place doesnt seem to have changed. Great food and excellent service – if your dinner doesnt wow you then at least the dessert should(if you still have room)

Casalinga is a wonderful restaurant for many reasons, including easy parking, lovely ambience and magnificent food.
Tournedos Rossini is one of the signature dishes at Casalinga and it is fitting to have the steak dish named after Rossini because….
Rossini was one of the best and most famous Italian composers (William tell overture) He wrote 40 operas (often three per year) by the time he was 40, and then suddenly retired. He later settled in a posh villa outside Paris, threw dinner parties and philosophized on music and food:
Rossini would have loved to have dined and chatted at Casalinga as they have delicious top quality food and the meet and greet manager, Liz, is a passionate food person who is friendly, informative, welcoming and fabulous to chat with about anything.
If you have room the deserts are delicious and if you cant fit much in you have the ice cream scoop option.
If Rossini has composed a musical piece whilst dining at Casalinga it would have been passionate, rich, stirring and something you would want to return to all the time.

We went here for work function and were really impressed the food was really nice and the staff good. The service was a little on the slow side when came time for dessert but over all it was a good
experience, we would go back again

WOSRT RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO!My partner had booked us a table for 7.30pmat Casalinga for Valentines Day. On arrival there was a queue at the door, so we stood in line and waited to be seated. 30 minutes had gone by and we had still not been seated, we were offered a drink while we stood there, so we accepted. After 45 minute’s of waiting we were finally seated. We had to wait almostanother 30 minutes to be served, then over an hour to actually receive our food, which we finally received at 9.45pm and the food was less than average!!Half the people that were eating at the place had the exact same issue, some people hadn’t evenreceived their foodat almost 10pm at night!! They tried to charge us for the drinks at the start of the night but we said we were not paying for them, due to how slow the service was.Maybe in future they should be more concerned about their customers, ratherthen being so money hungry and not make double bookings for tables on one ofthe busiest nights of the year!! (They hadbookings from 5.30pm-7pm and then 7.30pm onwards)We will never recommend nor go back ever again!
