Good coffee. Seems empty from the outside but is busy inside! Good feel about it and seems a popular sit down lunch spot. Could possibly do with an extra staff on to help the girls.
We were invited to Kofi Beans on the weekend, a space that impressed from the outset. I loved the middle eastern style decor, very unique for a cafe interior and not only did it really differentiate the place it created a fabulous atmosphere.
I took the opportunity to try a blueberry latte, never having seen one on a menu before. The flavour was quite subtle when compared to other speciality lattes but they also offer taro which is one of my favourites you cant get everywhere so I would recommend trying that. The drinks menu was very well rounded from Turkish coffee to Vietnamese iced coffee to shakes and juices and everything in between. A couple next to us were also sitting and enjoying a bottle of wine.
Food wise we went with one of the specials breakfast bruschetta with roast tomatoes, feta, roquette, beetroot pesto, poached eggs and sweet balsamic on Turkish pide. I liked this dish but it wasnt what I expected. Bruschetta conjured images to me of diced tomatoes with balsamic atop it. I didnt find the balsamic on the plate and the two tomato halves were on the side of the plate. The feta was also on the salad rather than the bread but the eggs were perfectly poached and the beetroot pesto extremely delicious.
My husband had the fritter dish and I tucked into the waffle meringue pie which was one of the best waffle dishes Ive had. The lemon curd and torched meringue were ingenious toppings and the berry injectors gave the presentation further pizzazz and also added another flavour dimension. I was also impressed with their extensive vegan menu. Suffice to say this suburban cafe vastly exceeded my expectations.
Best coffee in town! Have come here a number of times for breakfast and coffee and enjoyed each time! The area out the back is nice to sit in on a nice day!
Good variety on the menu however service is always lacking a little bit. I’ve been there 3 times and I never get the water I ask for and coffee comes after the food. Also think it might be worthwhile to invest in better outdoor setting as it’s often unstable and not the most comfortable. Not a bad option for breakfast though.
