Huge Kebabs but not the kebabs of Turkey or Greece. The flavours were a little odd to my pallet. I’m sure, if you enjoy Middle Eastern flavours you would really like these Kebabs. The lovely girl who served us was a delight. I wish I had enjoyed the Kabab more, just because of the service I received.
Disgusting service. These crooks took our money and gave us 40$ worth of green meat. It was off. They refused to replace it the same day and refused to give our money back. Was told they will be able to replace next day. How pathetic. Don’t eat here unless you want food poisoning. IN process of reporting them to local council.
The Worst Focaccia I Ever Ate in My Life. Do not go to this place. No flavour just crap food. Ordered the focaccia its a steamed watery bun. When i asked them told its because of the tomatoes. Didn’t even bother to make a new one. If im starving to death i’d rather die than eating in this place
Iraqi kebabs — who knew?. The menu signboard inside Abrakebabra advertises that it has Iraqi style dishes. I don’t know if the lamb kebab I got from here one day before a shift on the psycho ward at Dandenong Hospital is typical of that sad, smashed country’s cuisine, but it was different to the Afghan kebabs that prevail in town. First off, it was served in a folded-over pita, not the yeast-risen Afghan bread that seems to be standard in Dandy. The counter bloke put in in the sandwich press to heat it up as a finishing touch, but that made it tough on the outside. The meat was good, small shavings of what came across as real lamb flesh (as opposed to the smooth-textured, plastic-y kebab meat that’s carved off a lot of pre-made rolls.) It was a trifle dry, and not as charred as, say, the Lamb’s chain makes it. Nice flavour overall, though. The sanger with a packet of chips and a can of soda was a decent deal at $12. I still prefer a kebab from one of the Afghan places, mainly because I like their bread, but Abrakebabra’s is a worthy alternative.
BTW, Abrakebabra owners, as an American, I’m sorry for what my country did to yours. My shame over that is one of the main reasons I left the U.S. in 2005. Ditto for you Afghans. I don’t know if Islam has a concept like the Hindus’ karma, but someday the U.S. will reap what it has sown.
