Definitely worth the try if you’re up in Daylesford. A small gem in the heart of Daylesford. My highlight dish had to be the beef tartare. Might be easily the best I’ve tried so far. The quail was also amazing.
We discovered Bistro Terroir on a recent visit to Daylesford, while randomly walking round the town. It looked quite inviting and the menu had plenty of good things to try. Saturday was booked out so we delayed our return in order to try it out on Sunday evening.
What a great restaurant! The Australian chef has a well-deserved two star Michelin rating while the French waiter provided excellent service. There’s a good selection of french wines. We tried gougeres, smoked trout blinis and scallops as entrees; barramundi with beans and salad for main. Dessert was creme brle. The food was great.
Bistro Terroir has been open for less than 6 months. We think it’ll have a great future, and will be back when next in Daylesford.
Food was absolutely brilliant. We ordered the steak + frites. The steak was beautifully cooked and the jus full of flavour. Could have done with a few more frites but otherwise an incredible dish. Trumps entrecte any day of the week.
