Pretty good pasta. My boyfriend’s carbonara smelt delicious. Casual place, order at the bar. The older staff members were lovely making sure to say goodbye when we left.
Pleasant atmosphere and good, simple food perfect on a cold winter’s day. Can’t really go past their $10 pizza option as perfect for a quick snack with a good, coffee – actually served hot, rather than luke-warm as in most places. Can get busy on some peak holiday times.
The worst experience I’ve had at a cafe thus far!
I came here with the family for a quick and accessible feed. From the beginning, no wait staff were there, we had to find a table ourselves. By far, the rudest staff I have ever seen. After we ordered (finding out literally half of the menu was not available), it took over an hour and a half just for all pizzas and a bowl of chips to arrive. After everyone on the table had eaten, my sisters meal arrived and was cold. By then, my meal still hadn’t arrived. When I approached the staff for a refund of my meal as i did not want to stay a second longer, the girl just rolled her eyes and muttered to the other staff. DONT BOTHER.
Disappointing. If only we’d read the reviews first! We picked this place for Anzac Day lunch, as everywhere in Daylesford was absolutely packed (including here) and it seemed larger than some, so that we might fit. After placing our order at the counter (a fair wait, as they were busy) a table outside became free. We waited a long, long time for our order to arrive…they clearly couldn’t cope with the larger holiday crowd. Husband was happy, very happy in fact, with his vegetarian pizza, particularly the delicious base. I was not so impressed however with my fish of the day with chips and salad. Nothing special, not particularly good and certainly not worth the wait. Their system was disorganised, where you take a number and waitresses have to search around for the right table. One waitress in particular would just shout out the number she was looking for several times and tables would yell back indicating where they were. Not exactly a relaxed or professional atmosphere. I *might* return for a takeaway pizza one day, but nothing else.
Pizza was ok & other food seemed very average. Felt like we couldn’t eat comfortably because the guy who looked like the owner was frantic cleaning around us with a bad temper and looked like he hadn’t showered in days. He yelled at his staff in the middle of the restaurant. That’s was it, definitely wouldn’t go back.
Was looking for a place for dinner mid week. This was one of the only places open. Within 10minutes of sitting down the male chef/cook appearing intoxicated threw plates across the kitchen (which was in the view of customers) then started screaming and swearing. Foods not bad but some of the staff are crazy and will give this place a bad name!
Great pizza, nice fire place and looks like they are in the process of renovating the outside. They’re open till late which was useful for us.
