1 negative – I had a thumb worth of egg shell in my scrambled egg and all I got was a sorry…I hate wasting food so didnt send it back but pulled out the shells from the egg where I could see it however still had some crunchy bites…The fam ordered country breakfasts, croque madames and I had scrambled egg with hashbrown and mushrooms. The coffees, teas and hot choc was good, staff friendly and ambience gorgeous. Mushrooms done really well with sage. Would have preferred a more customer friendly response to a pile of egg shells on my plate though. May come back as it was a really lovely cafe.

What a great quirky find this place was for breakfast. Probably once upon-a-time a local general store, Cliffys has kept its old world charm. Coffee is great and most probably the best almond milk latte I had in Daylesford. Food was fantastic and the French toast with rhubarb and mascarpone sensational. Highly recommend the Moroccan baked eggs if something sweet is not for you for breakfast.
Cliffys could be the most impressive Cafe Ive ever visited. Cliffys is very understated and lies on the outskirts of Daylesford on the way to Trentham, but dont let that fool ya. The culinary offerings coming off the pass here are as good as youll get for any cafe in Regional Victoria.
I opted for the ShakShuka, which is a middle eastern dish that is indescribably impressive. Youll know what I mean after youve tried it.
My only disappointment is that the kitchen closes at 2:30pm, what a shame 🙂
