The food was tasty, small serving sizes. The setting is lovely. The manager guy was a character and friendly but the other staff not so much. It was a bit of a struggle to order and the food came staggered but its a lovely setting and menu.
We came for high tea and after ringing twice to confirm booking and to let them know we had a someone in our group that was pregnant, they then forgot our booking and thought it was the next day. They said we’d have to now wait longer for it to be prepared. The manager gave a casual apology and said luckily we looked like patient people and offered nothing to make up for his mistake. We reminded him about pregnancy requirements and he said that wasn’t a problem. He than came back awhile later and said it was now a problem and she would have to have salad instead. The salads were nice enough but not why you order high tea. Service was generally sloppy and unprofessional with things being forgotten, such as our ‘belated scones’ as our waitress called them as they took so long or drinks being forgotten at the counter for awhile. We were told that coffee and tea was unlimited and to just ask. We asked a waitress cleaning a table next to us and she said we’d have to go up to the counter to put it through the till and also because she knew she’d forget (we’d ordered two drinks). We asked if she could get some paper to write it down and she said she didn’t have any paper. We asked if she could go and get some paper and she said she’d go get some them. We couldn’t quite believe how unhelpful and rude she was. Food was enjoyable but nothing amazing. We wouldn’t come back or recomend it to anyone.
