Had our son’s wedding reception at the Birdies & Bogey’s last night.
The food was quite good, the decoration was ok. BUT unfortunately the service was atrocious.
It seemed most of the staff were not trained in service for a wedding. After about the first 30 minutes the drinks were not served by the staff, I spent a good part of my night serving drinks to guests at their tables. The meals were soooo slow coming out of the kitchen. The pre ordered children’s meals were so late coming out. I had many guests asking about the food as they were hungry and not sure when the meal would be served.
We paid for a certain amount of people (meals) but they only provided meals for people that were actually seated, some guest out side smoking or at the toilet missed their meals because they weren’t seated!!!
Never ever again. Please don’t arrange your wedding here!!!!!

Disclosure: I have been a member at this golf club for 5 years but tonight was our first visit. This is also my 2nd review….I never wanted to be a serial blogger but it’s hard not to spread a good word when you uncover a gem!
Came here with the wifey and kids…WOW! $25 steaks with a glass of wine. We honestly expected a mediocre meal but was quite blown away. Steak was of good quality and well cooked. Free live band on Fridays as well. Ultra friendly staff. I am ashamed that I avoided coming here for years.
Sorry to our usual Friday haunts…we now have a new alternative locale to support!
Dedicated , friendly and superb. We visited the Sunshine golf club bistro 3 times last week as my husband and i do when we find somewhere different to see if the food and service is consistent.
Well all i can say is WOW
The service was amazing, the dedication of the staff that were on, constantly checking on us making sure we were serviced correctly and always happy,
On each occasion we dined, we had the same waitress which was brilliant and we also had another young lady that was fast passed and also very dedicated to her customers.
We felt like we were the only people in the bistro, although we werent , the View of the city OMG never seen anything like it you must go and check it out
The food was just wonderful, couldn’t fault anything to tell you the truth, although we went on a friday night, they had a family feed the family for $20 it was packed with families which was so beautiful to see, what an amazing venue to do this and keep families coming out and enjoying dinner with families and still be able to afford it.
We also attended a wedding their on the weekend and it was just perfect, the location, the food , so much food!!! The staff behind the bar did an amazing job , the manager on duty was constantly walking around checking everyone was ok, running stock, food and very hands on, as well as having fun singing and dancing behind the bar with the rest of the staff, was really good to see such great staff moral,
So all in all we will be coming back over and over again, as we LOVED out experience and even though we are from ballarat we will drive to dine here cause everyone needs to see and enjoy the view and service we recieved all week!!
Unbelieveable rude and slow. I visited the sunshine golf club once before, but this was surely the last time I ever go the service was terrific friendly staff and standard food but the staff was very friendly that was what lead me back for a second dinner the first dinner I had at this place was with a group of 7 girls and the service was fast and friendly but the second time I came it was just my partner and I the waitress was rude, yelling at poor casual worker that was following orders given by her, we ordered one main since we were not that hungry and the waitress would cease to gives us anymore service, when I asked how long it was going to be till the parma was going to come out since we were waiting for 50 minutes she turned to me and said that it wasn’t taking that long it took 50 mins for the parma to come out!
Too avoid disappoint and value for money avoid Derrimut skyes bistro and go to the nearest pub cause I grantee the SERVICE AND FOOD WILL BE BETTER
Sunday Lunch. I come here all the time for Sunday lunch with my mum. The staff as SUPER friendly and lovely. We usually get a parma+chips+salad for $10 which is not bad, but have recently noticed the parma is smaller, there are fewer chips and less salad than before.
Best ever. We attended the restaurant on Wednesday night for their steak night for only $12!
I was the most amazing steak for $12 i have every had, it was porterhouse steak with chips and salad, and was a great serving,
The service by the staff, haylee was our waitress,as she introduced herself, was above and beyond, the attention to detail she gave was like a silver service service, well mannered, well spoken, knew everything on the menu we asked about, suggested wines to drink with our meal, and it went on.
There were about 8 tables in the restaurant at the time of our visit and there was no rushing us out the door, no slack service and the smile and conversation was superb, this wasn’t just our table it was for all the tables she served, i have been to a few in the area and nothing bets the food and the service our family received on the night, as soon as our plates were cleared we were given the desert menu and of course we ordered but she knew how to work the people in the restaurant and when they were ready, just watching her work the floor was great.
I could hear the other tables talking about how attentive she was , the other girl in there at the time was also very well mannered, but this girl just showed such dedication to her work and you could see she loved her job.
Anyway the food was just great and i will be recommending this ace to my family and friends,
Oh and they have feed the family for $20 on a friday night yep you heard it, what a bargin
I often come here for work lunches ( as I work around te corner and there really isn’t much around). I don’t think there has wen a time yet where I could say I had an enjoyable experience. From forgotten meals, to burnt parmas, and entrees either not coming or coming out with mains… Quality of food is of a standard pub.
