We came here for the buffet breakfast and really enjoyed the food, decor and view. We were seated at the window overlooking the Yarra River.
Breakfast consisted of all the usual suspects, but I especially loved the juice bar where you could make your own juice. They even had recipes for you to follow although I just wanted watermelon juice – yum.
Was it the best buffet breakfast I have ever had? – hell no! But it was delicious and had a good variety of food, all set in a nice dining room with a good view.
Our Groupon voucher was $39 for two people for the buffet breakfast including coffee. Good value for a breakfast restaurant if using a voucher although the full price is listed at $70 which is far too expensive.
We stayed here for two nights over New Year’s Eve 2015 and we had an amazing time.
After a night of partying, we woke up quite late on the first day of 2016 and decided to get room-service breakfast, for $22 it’s a great selection including grilled tomatoes, large mushroom, sausages, hash browns, scrambled eggs, bacon and toast! The breakfast was really good, the food was cooked well and served hot!
Later that night, we chose to do a very late dinner while watching a movie, and tried the 24 hour room service menu. We ordered the beef burger with chips and the chicken caesar salad. The beef burger was very meaty and tasty with the full works including bacon however the chips were pretty soggy. The biggest disappointment was the chicken caesar, the lettuce was soggy, had very little caesar dressing causing the salad to be very dry, the bread sticks were stale and worst of all, the chicken was so dry and overcooked it was inedible. It was clearly frozen pre sliced chicken and was disgusting.
This salad was the only disappointment from the food that we tried so we would highly advise not ordering the salad.
If it wasn’t for the salad, we would have rated them a 4/5
Came for a buffet lunch and absolutely loved it! Loved the wide variety of salads, morrocan chicken and stir fry vegetables. They also have good quality pastry, cake and tarts for dessert along with a cheese platter and fruits. Overall experience was pleasant.
Groupon recently offered the buffet breakfast. I know most people cringe at the concept, but as a fussy eater who sometimes likes a little of everything. I am not against the buffet concept. My husband to be, and I went for the breakfast buffet over the weekend. To my surprise the selection was more than I expected. There was an egg chef, taking your order. A juice bar, to make your own concoctions. Even two types of bacon, English vs American. I loved it. I get to eat a mouthful of everything and ensure the husband to be, was satisfied. A task not easily attained!
Shopping weekend. My 12 year old daughter and I ate dinner and breakfast at Clarendon St grill recently and the food was beautiful, I had the Soup and slow cooked lamb, which was so beautiful. My daughter had the Chicken salad and fruit salad. Breakfast was amazing with so much to choose from. I would definitely recommend eating there, as the food is really good and the service was great also.
Clarendon Street Grill ~ Crown Plaza. Clarendon Street Grill – Food was good… needs a re-vamp & update of menu! In a great location & could offer so much more…
Room service was really below average. Menu discription made prosciutto pizza sound fresh and delicious with baby tomatoes, rocket and baby bocincinni. What arrived was a cheese flooded disc with barely a tomatoe or piece of prosciutto to be seen. On top was a scattering of about five rocket leaves. A real let down.
