This place requires prior Booking, and if you haven’t then chances are that you wouldn’t find the table (like we did not, and had to return next weekend after we had made the booking.).
We loved the decor and the vibe….very very tastefully done. Rumaan means Pomegranate and you see extensive use of it in Mama Rumaan’s preparations in one for or another.
Ordered a Qouzi and a Middle East Feast. Our personal favorite was the succulent lamb shoulder meat Qouzi. Succulent and Juicy served with chickpeas and wheat. Second best was the Middle East Feast for two that had Lamb Kofte Lamb Tekka Chicken Tekka served with Naan and Rice and Jajik and Tabouli Salad . So juicy and full of subtle flavors.
Decently priced for the quality and deliciousness they offer. Hospitality was No 1
Great food & atmosphere… meat was really delicious and tender. We ordered the set menu and the amount of food was perfect (not overly generous) but the right amount. Would definitely recommend.
Always so reliable and good flavours here. The lamb filo cigars omgggg just to die for. The chicken tekka is delicious, good spices and serve size is decent. Def a winner and prob the best restaurant in the Docklands area. Wine is reasonable priced too – $7 a glass
Mama Rumaan has such a hip, modern, Melbourne vibe. There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu making it ideal for larger groups, although it can get quite busy so best to book ahead.
We came for a quick work lunch and two of us had the Middle East Feast while our vegetarian colleague had the Old Spice Rice (vegan option). We were all impressed by how tasty and filling the food was, especially the Middle East Feast which comes with 3 skewers per person and a mountain of rice, pita, tabouleh and dip.
Will definitely be returning to try their famous Quozi!
