It has been a long time between reviews. I’m saddened that a weekend away culminated with an experience that prompted a return to writing for reasons all too important to remain unaddressed.
Service: The casually dressed waiter, looking like he was dragged out of bed. His respones to all questions were blunt, unenthusiastic and forced. His priority was his smart phone not customers. Everything was a chore. Food arrived timely, only because dumplings were straight from the freezer.
Food: Disgraceful. I have never eaten such rubbish in Melbourne. The hokkien chicken dish was a salt laden packet job with nothing remotely resembling freshness. The chicken was fatty and grey indicating a cheap cut and/or an old chook frozen for a long period. Chicken soup was a gooey glag, pre cooked, scraped off the floor, congealed mess of embarassement. Only a careless, senile chef with a penchant for misery would be proud of such horrific efforts.
Atmosphere: None
Value: Prices are resonable for this area, but you’d be mad to ever eat here.
Potential: Fire the front off house and the chef, change the name and rid yourself of this reputation, other reviews are accurate. I highly recommend you consider an alternative, no matter how desparate you are.
Upon leaving I made sure to voice my vehemont distaste and disappointment for the meal. The waiter did not entertain any criticism. I refused to pay for the chicken soup (first time I have ever done this) but relented when the waiter became argumentative. Hence this review, to be shared, as much as possible.
The worst possible noodles I have ever had! I asked for stir fried noodles and was served a bowl of boiled noodles topped with veggies after 15 mins of wait during crucial office lunch time! It is such a shame to have a bad restaurant near you workplace. One less option!
