  • The Dear Luncher

The long macchiato served up was initially a bit on the bitter side, but that initial sharp pang dissipated to result in a fairly high-grade coffee.

The bacon and egg muffin didnt look all that great on the outside, but just like The Dear Luncher, the frightening exterior should be ignored. The Dear Luncher, just like this breakfast muffin, is beautiful on the inside. Well-formed egg (ideal amount of yolk drip), fatty bacon and wonderful cheese keeping this wee muffin glued together nicely.

Supagrind goes all-right, youd be pretty happy if this was the coffee shop at the bottom of your work building.

They have been working on the Foyer of 664 Collins Street for the longest time so its great to finally see a cafe take shape. Quite a stylish fitout with leather chairs and booth tables not to mention the substantial cabinet full of goodies and the walk up coffee window. I feel a little for the share number of staff trying to squish into the active corner of this cafe where everything was happening.

I ordered a skinny latte and a raspberry white choc muffin from one of the less squished up staff members who was very pleasant especially when she informed me of the $5 coffee muffin deal. The coffee was absolutely delicious. I didnt get a chance to see what blend they use but will be sure to come back and find out because it could easily be my new daily dose… the coffee in my work building is just awful compared to this. The muffin was sweet and (Im going to use that word and I know some people hate it) moist and again would return for the three or so varieties they had.

So yes, only a coffee and muffin review, but a very good start to this new Docklands cafe.
