3.5 Everyone tells me that the pizza is really good in The Wharf Hotel and last time I came, it was a disaster, so I was not very willing to try this place again.
Surprisingly, this time the pizza was quite delish! I ordered the salami pizza and the margarita pizza. My hubby felt that the salami pizza could have more salami though. And I felt the wait was quite long for the pizza. Otherwise a good find.

Dont you love it when its freezing outside but you are warm inside during winter? Even better when its inside an igloo! We shared some giant platters of food, washed down with some cocktails next to the riverbank with some great company. Perfect way to end the weekend. Highlights: watching the world go by from warmth inside igloo, eating and drinking. The breads were delicious and food was plentiful. Lowlights: the food got cold super quickly, almost if they were just reheated?

The igloos look amazing there till end of September so will have to try get in.
Decided to try The Wharf Hotel today as I have walked past many times and the vibes are always very pleasant with people casually drinking, the heaters burning and sport playing on the projector just next to the river. Unfortunately while the atmosphere is great, the food was regular and we had to wait 1 hour for a pizza and side tacos. It seems that other groups were also frustrated with the long food wait, with the table next to ours having to chase down their food after 45min since ordering. The staff apologised and provided a full refund with our meal which was a nice gesture.
Yesterday we had the perfect evening celebrating with friends at The Wharf hotels latest popup riverside beach! Fully decked with our very own beach box complete with white sand, deck chairs, beach balls, great food, drinks and a ice-cream cart More info https://www.melbournewithkidz.com/whats-on/riverside-beach-bar2540942
We chose this venue essentially as it was in the entertainment book and because its great in summer with the water view and jugs of pimms aplenty. I decided to indulge with the cheese and garlic pizza to start with which was a superb choice. I ended up quite full from this owing to the fact Id eaten not long before arriving so went straight to dessert.
They used to do cute little desserts in mason jars which are sadly no longer. The current options are ok but bring back the jars I say. Regardless I was happy enough with the pizza and pimms. As soon as you work out how to get here youll always come back to this huge central space on the Yarra (confusing access from a side street as the frontage is water facing).

Came here tonight for dinner to catch up with some friends who were in Melbourne to attend the Australian Open. Having been here before I chose it as I knew they would have the tennis playing on their large screens outside and being a nice sunny day it would be a great atmosphere having a drink by the water. As there was 13 of us they sat us in the private dining room which was pretty cool but as nice as the live music is it was a bit loud and we struggled to hear each other speaking at times.
Great place for after work drinks but with volumes bordering on nightclub decibels I certainly wouldn’t bring a date there. As usual the menu featured all your standard pub fare, although my spiced calamari entree was exceptional. There was almost a sweet element to the salt on it which was something quite different from your standard lemon pepper calamari.
There was a basil pesto linguine on the menu and a prawn linguini so I asked if I could have the basil pesto linguini with prawns but I was told no there is a prawn shortage so we can’t add prawns. I then asked if I could order the prawn linguini and add the basil pesto and was told yes for an extra $3. I found that to be pretty ridiculous but I enjoyed it regardless although it was a little too oily as pesto tend to be.
