Ordered special fried rice with two entrees – wontons and spring rolls, the fried rice was porridge like and has no taste at all. The fried wontons were just fried pieces of batter with the tiniest piece of meat you could ever imagine. Spring rolls were rubbish too. Wouldn’t go back there if I was paid to. Yuk!

If flavour over decoration is your gig then this place is your fit. Look like a dodgy Chinese take away shop. But to local Doncaster foodies this is an institution. Must order their pepper mid crab and chicken herbal soup.
food quality is not as good as before, vegetable too old. In addition, the service is bad, especial the waitress, wife of boss, is proud, not very respect customers.
We found this restaurant through online discussion forums and not sure what to expect.
Three dishes: signature crab, braised pig trotter and stewed pigeons. The pigeons and trotters were nice and full of flavours. The signature crab on hot plate was very nice: fresh, meaty and lightly seasoned with white pepper (I think).
Our kid was asleep in the pram when we arrived and woke up shortly unhappy. The waitress immediately offered prawn crackers which claimed him down quickly.
Spent about $170, cash. We enjoyed the meal and the price is justified.
Small shop with limited tables, booking is recommended.
Went on a Friday night just before Chinese New Year. The restaurant was full. Friendly service, served course by course when the previous course was almost finished, so timing was good. Cleaned plates regularly even during busy period which is better than a lot of others we’ve been to. The only thing was, the price is on the higher side. But given the dishes were different to other Chinese restaurant and has its own style, good to go for something different every now and then, even to pay a little extra.
Wait times over an hour when busy. However food is pleasant, in particular the fried crab. It is original and hard to find such exotic flavours elsewhere.
